The turbo club was great the entertainer Sabrina is such a laugh. The food is not great but the main restaurant was under refurb. We will back. The only problem was a couple of homophobic people which made there feelings very clear. The hotel management jumped on this and the situation was dealt with. Very clean did not see one roach at the complex which can only mean they are very good at keeping the place clean. The staff are lovely and friendly even down to the night staff.

Thank you again.

Bad experiences:

I was in a group of four adults and one baby and all the adults contracted food poisoning from the restaurant - we think it was the rice as we all had it with our meal.

Staff very unfriendly and the little man on reception was no help at all - he always seemed half-sleep.

Be careful if shopping in the on-site shop as we bought a carton of cranberry juice and it was a month out of date !!!

I have drunk some really ropey wine in my time but have to admit that the wine at the Turbo Club pool bar was the worst I have ever tasted. The wine in the restaurant was much better, so fill your glasses up before finishing your dinner.

Good experiences:

Apartments were very roomy and clean
Sangria at pool bar very good
Sabrina was an all-round entertainer and did a very good job
Weather was amazing
Overall Turbo Club is value for money

Apart from the bad reviews, I thought the Turbo Club was laid out very well with the two pools.

Try and go to the Caribbean beach at Puerto Rico - it is amazing.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the large pool area and didn't have any trouble sleeping.

The nite time entertainment is enjoyable, sabrina gets evey1 involved its good laugh. The hotel itself is we bit to far out, if u miss free bus to beach u have get taxis, we were spending 10euros a day to go beach or playa del inglesl

We went in April, enjoyed it enough to tell our friends and the 4 of us are back in September. The rooms were clean and tidy, food was adequate - basic but what do people expect for the money. The drinks were local spirits but full strength, entertainment was good & the free bus to the beach was an added advantage.

Room Tip: If not a family with children wanting the large pool then ask for a room around the quieter pool

My husband ,I and our 4 kids have just come back from staying at this hotel for 10 days.We were given 2 rooms next door to each other next to the quiet pool, which was great as it has a lovely baby pool which was right outside our room. There is no bar at this pool so it was a bit of a pain to keep walking back n forth for drinks.Rooms were spotless, gardens and pools were very clean.Dont think we would of enjoyed so much if we were given a room by the main pools as it was very noisy.Food was fine, always something we liked.Soft drinks were ok,sometimes abit strong, wasnt keen on the coke but the fizzy orange was nice.Beers and wine was fine.So no bad bellys at all! Entertainment was rubbish, just the 1 woman trying to do her best. Our 2 youngest kids did enjoy the kids disco but it only last for about 20 mins!!!Then the bingo started[thankfully we took our playing cards],so we went out most nights.Thankfully holiday world is only 5 mins away which is brilliant.Reception staff not helpful at all,and don't speak very good English. We had to leave hotel at 3am for our return flight home and we were shocked to see there was no reception staff anywhere and the security guard fast asleep in the reception area!!He woke up very grumpy and when we gave our room keys to him he went straight back to sleep!!!!We had a lovely holiday but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again as there was lack of entertainment and nothing much around where the hotel is situated.

Firstly I will cut to the chase ALL INCLUSIVE FOR £27.00 per day per person in July, so what do you get for your money.

1- Breakfast- is OK with a choice of hot food & cereals, toast and the like, but the coffee is not great.
2- Bar- opens at 10.00am for those who wish to partake and shuts at 11.30pm with spirits available after lunch. The wine is not great, but the beer was OK and my wife generally had the sangria or G & T.
3- Lunch- Full hot buffet together with salad bar, soup & sweet. Food was mostly beef, pork, turkey & chicken, some in a sauce and some cooked on the hot plate fresh during lunch time.
4- Afternoon- cake for those who are still hungry??
5- Dinner- Full hot buffet as above, soup, salad bar & sweet.
6- Free bus service to the beach.

ALL FOR £27.00 per day per person in July, you can not holiday like that in Britain so please bear this in mind!!

I have provided in greater detail below some more info which may be of benefit.

We checked in after 12.00 o' clock with no problems and a friendly welcome, paid for a safety box and went to lunch. Food over the fortnight was of reasonable quality bearing in mind the cost stated above. There was a microwave if things were a bit tepid, but we had no problems with any health related issues during our stay and the presence of cockroaches within the complex, which is a major problem on the island, was minimal and we could sleep with windows open for most of the night and not in fear of finding them in the morning!! Rooms are bright and fairly standard in size for the area but of modern appearance. We asked for a sunny aspect and we overlooked the large pool and the entertainment area in an upper room which was fine. The bed rooms are at the back so any noise from the pool area is kept to a minimum and generally stops at about mid-night. The beds are large and comfy but the pillows could be better. The adult entertainer this year is Sabrina as she is a hoot, but during our visit there appeared to be staffing problems for the kiddies club which was not well received by some parents, but Sabrina filled in as best as she could. The location of the complex is within a very large circular conurbation with several other apartment blocks situated around the central open area and is close to Holiday World and the market which runs on Wednesday & Saturday and was generally quiet. We had hired a car for the fortnight so we could escape for a few hours, revisited Puerto Rice, Puerto Mogan and Amadorus beach for old times sake and if you want to see the real Gran Canaria get up into the mountains as the views are stunning are the roads are a real challenge of your driving skills!! We generally lurched from meal to meal, ate out once and found it to be more costly than Britain so returned to our all inclusive option. We had a great time, the staff work very hard and should be applauded for the tireless efforts all with a smile on their face and we could hand on heart say we have very little to complain about based on the overall cost of the holiday, well done Turbo Club!!

Room Tip: Some rooms get morning sun, some afternoon, choose what you want and ask!!

My boyfriend and i booked this for a weeks stay with 6kids (ages 14, 9, 7, 5, 4 & 20months) and can honestly say its been the best holiday ive ever had. The rooms were clean and tidy - actually the whole complex was. The food was fine - we all ate well... No empty tummys. The boyfriends bowels were the best they have EVER been while we were away... I found the fruit juices a little strong tho thats a personal preference and cold water to add to taste. Staff were very friendly bar one or two who were a little grumpy. We found the entertainment fun for kids and adults - cheesy but thats what you expect!
Minor ( and i mean MINOR) gripes i had were the pillows were rubbish and a bit of a ball ache if you are round the kids pool (as we were) that you can only get two drinks at a time and as the bar was around the big pool we had to do four trips. Holiday world is worth a visit as only 10min walk and the market on a saturday and wedsnesay is nice for a walk about. We found maspalomas beach a bit of a let down so id advise people with kids to go Playa De La Inglines instead. The Aquapark is a must!! Little pricey but worth it as its open till 6pm.
The weather was beautiful and well into the 30'c so we all can back lovely and brown. Found the locals very friendly and approachable.
I wouldnt hesistate to return to Gran Canaria and The Turbo Club again. Although if next time without the kids we would venture out a little mote cos the nightlife and bars looked amazing!!
