“Stay Away”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Did not expect too much from our visit to the Capri as it was a budget option, and I always say you get what you pay for. However, not on this occassion. Rooms were basic, which again was fine, few cockroaches and lots of ants. To be expected so no qualms with that. But, the downsides were much worse. Maid service was hit and miss. We had 5 apartments between our group, and the maids just seem to flip a coin for which one to clean and change towels in. Bring your own towels! When I say cleaning, I do of course mean, emptying the bins and stacking the white chairs! Security is more or less non existent at the complex. The man who is there is rude and just sits at the entrance allowing anyone in without question, I know this as we had people visit us late at night. One of our group awoke to find an intruder in the room and none of the staff wanted to know when we went to them. The reception staff have absolutely no English, are rude and obnoxious. The complex can be dark at night with lots of little steps which makes it quite dangerous. The bedroom windows have no bars so you can not leave them open at night. The pool is clean and there are lots of sun beds, however at the weekend, a lot of local Spaniards congregate here, so don't expect a quiet time at the pool. The bar and restaurant open whenever it suits the owners and only then. Can't believe we stayed the full two weeks booked here, but as there was a group of us, we stuck it out. As we had four nights remaining on our holiday on our own, we left and went to a hotel much closer to town. Tend to stay away from central locations, but could not stick this complex any longer. Will we go back??? Absolutely not. The cockroaches are welcome to the place, and the staff will keep them company, as that is the extent of their personalities. ( I must say, one member of staff was nice and he was the slim maintenance man who was very pleasant.) Stay away all ye would be budget travellers!!!!!!

Very basic, but this is what we expected, just somewhere to sleep at night, so not a huge problem to us.
Not well equiped for self-catering, few cockroaches, but shower and loo worked, so that was a good added bonus.
We had bungalow by swimming pool, and there was constant noise from children, as we had no children with us it was a bit of a pain, another couple we meet who were in bungalows behind us said they had constant noise at night, so it seems you cannot win.
The worse problem for us, and no one seemed to mention it in other reviews, was its very far out from any life and beaches, yes there is an amusement park and bowling alley close, ok for one nights entertainment and kids, the few bars were dead. Yes you can get the free bus to the beach but last one back is 4.30 in afternoon. Taxis are cheap but it all adds up if you want to go out and back twice a day. Obviously you can hire car, but that restricts a drink in the evening.
We hired push-bikes for the week at 6 euros a day, cycled everywhere, it was flat cycling to beach etc so no effort involved, very enjoyable.
Overall, if you want a basic cheap hotel and stay by pool all day, its ok, if you want anything else do not stay there.
A visit to puerto de mogan is a must, very pretty, you can get there by bus, along scary mountain road.

Room Tip: only stay by pool if you have children with you

We paid £400 for 2 apartments for 11 nights. You can't expect too much for that kind of money but all we were after was somewhere to lay our head on a night and a swimming pool with the added bonus of not being in a high rise hotel. The pool had sun on it all day and was never really cold. We were there at the back end of the summer holidays and never had any problems getting a sun bed. There is a bar/ restuarant near the reception and supermarket which had very friendly staff and owner. The food was decent quality and a very resonable price. (Coke and a burger 3 Euro). The supermarket had plenty to offer and had newspapers every morning by 8 when it opened. On to the apartment. As i said before we weren't there for the accommodation but it was pretty much as expected. The main room is a good size and my 4 year old son took the settee and once he got used to the heat he slept fine. Unless you had sunburn, the beds are ok to sleep on and we had no problem. Not the comfiest but I didn't pay for luxury. As for Cockroach's, I didn't see any at the apartment but it wouldn't have bothered me as I am used to seeing them in Gran Canaria. The apartments are only a short walk from Holiday World which has plenty of games, rides and attractions to keep the family busy (very handy). Unfortunately there isn't a great range of restaurants around and once you see one hotels menu you have seen them all. We walked to holiday world and got taxi's from there (as there is a taxi rank) and went to playa beach which has around 10 - 15 restaurants (mainly steakhouses and italians) at a cost of around 3.50 euros. As for Capri Bungalows, we had a great time and ate out all the time so didn't need the self catering amenities.

Absolute nightmare!!!
Having just arrived back from this awful complex(i can't believe we stayed a whole two weeks) i feel the need to warn would be travellers to give it a wide berth! I will be fair and say nice pool and good restaurant but thats about it on the plus side.I didn't expect much for the price i paid and i wasn't disappointed. Beds were so hard as to be almost unusable. Many of the people we met their ended up sleeping on the settee. As for self catering, if you like cooking on one electric ring(there were two but only one worked) then thats fine because that is the limit of the kitchen facilities. However if you would like to fork out extra you can hire a kettle(10euros per week) and a toaster(13euros per week). Air conditioning? there is none but guess what? Yes you can hire a fan(13euros per week) and this will circulate the hot air around the bedroom. Remember the old avocado bathroom suite? you will be reunited with it here! And finally ,this is a chart topper, the little(and not so little) friends that came to visit at night. Now i class myself as an overall wildlife lover but i do draw the line at having to share my suitcase, food cupboard and bedroom with Periplaneta Americana (the most common species) the cockroach. We apparently were quite lucky only meeting the odd six or seven, some of our neighbours had a head count well into the twenties. Would we ever go back? What do you think!!

This has been my second time to Maspolomas and we again stayed at Capri Bungalows. We went for 7 nights and for flights, accommodation and transfers we paid £220 each which was grt vaue. The bungalows are situated about 10 min from maspolomas beach by transport but there is a daily free shuttle that you can catch to take you to the beach. The beach in maspolomas is lovely andthe walk along it is wonderfulas is all the little places to eat. We went to Holiday world to eat on a few occassions but the fun fare is really for kids and not my cup of tea.Faro 2 another massive complex near our hotel was virtually empty which was a shame 2 yrs ago when we went there we ate at awonderful tapas restuarant which was nolonger there. the recession seems to have made a bad impact. There is a sunday car boot sale here which is worth visiting. From the Capri you can walk into Playa Del Ingles which will take you around 30 min its a walk we did often but not easy on those that have trouble walking. By taxi into Playa Del Ingles u will pay just under 4 Euros which is a good price. Capri Bungalows are very good value for money you really cannot go wrong a little distance from most places but local bus and taxi are always at hand.

Room Tip: We had bungalow with twin room which was totally suitable there is a sofa bed downstairs if you need...

Me and my husband stayed her in may 2012, complex was clean and tidy, apartment was basic but clean and tidy, fresh towels and bedding every 2 days when apartment was cleaned, all staff very helpful and polite, pool was cleaned every day, no the pool wasnt heated but when weather 40-45' ya don't need it and your not paying the ritz prices!!! The on site restaurant was the cheapest in the area but that didn't scrimp on the service or the the quality food he isn't given enough credit for his cooking, service and friendlyness,
We loved it that much we want to deffo and will come again bringing our family with us

Room Tip: We stayed in A32 which was close to pool but far away for privacy, if your wanting 5* all the trimmi...
