“Stay here if you don't mind Cockroaches”
Reviewed August 29, 2009

very basic. apartments were cleaned every 2nd day. we had to rent 2 fans as the room was hotter inside then out. On the last few days we were visited by cockroaches and on our leaving day some eggs must have hatched in the bathroom as their were 7 baby roaches running around. The day staff are helpful, the night just tell you they don't speak english. A bit isolated but their is a gorgeous restaurant called the Bamboo garden half a mile up the hill.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in August 09 and would not recommend people to stay here. Granted the staff are great from the shop to the reception and are very kind and very helpful. The daily cleaning ladies are very Friendly. The apartments are a small bit far from the beach but that's not really a problem as a taxi to Maspolomas beach is 3 euro and its 4 euro to anywhere in Playa Del Ingles such as the beach, shopping centers pubs etc so the bit of a distance out is irrelevant at 2 euro each sharing a journey. The apartments are clean but extremely basic and badly in need of renovation. The lock in our patio door was broken and the only thing locking it at night was a stick of a brush in the slider tray. There is no air conditioning here meaning the apartment is a nightmare to sleep in. The biggest crime of all is that as well as no air con the bathroom doesn't even have an extractor fan,all it has is a tiny window which opens by tilting inwards but only opens by a maximum of 3 inches meaning in the 30 degree heat if you have a shower don't even bother towel drying as you'll be soaking wet with the humidity 5 secs after drying. The lack of ventilation there means the bathroom will be like this for about 2 hours and expect lots of ants etc as a result. My girlfriend was extremely frustrated trying to applying any sort of make up in there with the humidity! The only slight bit of ease with this is that you can rent a fan for 15 euro for the week but its largely useless.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in July 2009. , never again. The apartments are ok, but they are situated up a steep hill. If like me you like to walk around the resort to see whats around, forget this place. I have never been so disappointed in the location of any place I have visited as I was in Vista Oasis. Isent a review to my travel company stating this, but they did not post it on their website. If you want a quiet holiday this is the place for you, but if you want to see the shops and sights STAY AWAY or take plenty of spare money with you to pay for the taxis.

I came here on a holiday by myself and chose this place because it seemed quiet and a bit out of the way. My apartment was overlooking the pool and just above a kiddies play area where people let their kids scream until midnight while they drank until the bar shut. Then at around 7.00 am the noise from the pool with kids was terrible AND they were doing heavy drilling on the apartment next ddor starting at 7.00am so all in all I didn't get one full night's sleep. No air conditioning and the staff very unfriendly. If I got a free holiday to go back here I would not go. Oh, and the beach is miles away so you need to get a taxi or a bus.

just arrived back from vista oasis after a two week stay with my partner and are 3 yr son, had a great time here, quiet location buses run just down the road to puerrto rico for the day fab views on the bus, amadores beach a must see, playa ingles more for young crowd so we stayed in maspalomas/ puerto rico, spar just around the corner for all ur essentials, the shop in reception opens till late bar closes at midnight (sharp)... weather was fab reached temp of 32 one of the days. no air con in the appartments but airy enough basic but clean great balconys with lovely views at night! the restaurant in the complex is very basic set menu but eatable! if your looking for a relaxing hoilday with children this is the place!

Very isolated. If you want to go to sea to swim you have to go to Playa Del Ingles, between €4 and €5 each way in taxi.Courtesy bus goes Maspalomas but extremely stoney in water, unsafe to swim.Only one restaurant nearby, it is nice.Cafe at pool area good for basic food. But if you dont want that no selection.Fantastic balcony on third level, very private.Rooms only cleaned once per week, towels changed only once a week, not satisfactory.Staff very friendly.Pool very good.Easy to get taxis.Taxi people very friendly.Good value spar shop close by.Hotel Shop small, but open late which is useful. Not good value for holiday if you want to leave the complex.Budget should advise people more about this.Island Trip with budget was goo.

Recently got back from a great holiday in Gran Canaria. These bungalows are great for the price. They are a a good size for two people, or two plus 1 child, and have all the necessaries for a cheap self catering holiday. Our room was cleaned and towels changed 3 times in one week, we had a big terrace with sunbeds and table and chairs. Their was ample crockery/pans/cutlery etc for cooking on the 2 hobs, and a fridge was also provided. If you happy eating salads, omelettes, potatoes, pasta, noodles, etc etc then there is no need for a cooker or microwave. The only thing missing was a kettle, but it only took a bit longer to boil water in pan!
The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water, the shower was more powerful than my own!
I didn't see one ant or cockroach my whole stay.
The pool was large and looked fab, but I didn't use it prefering to take off up the coast to a fab beach at Anfi near Patalavaca instead.
These apartments are a distance from the nightlife and beaches, but if you are looking for a quiet getaway then look no further... buses are frequent and run late into the night. Alternatively do what we did and hire a car for the week, then you can explore the island properly - go to Puerto Mogan, Anfi, Amadores beach, Cave restaurants in the mountains etc.. all much better than Playa de Ingles or Puerto Rico (what a dump). Our car hire was only just over £100 for the week with RecordGo hire well worth it for not having to hang around for buses with all our beach stuff etc!!
Have Fun and explore the island there is much more to Gran Canaria than the resorts with Macdonalds on the beach......
