“Thanks!”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We just spent an 8-days holiday in Dunas Maspalomas and were very pleased in everything. Our special thanks to the Team (especially Andrea and Chicco who kept on encouriging us to take part in different "serious competitions" in the Pool Area with a style on "vamos-vamos-Timo and Nina-TanjaPutiainen.. Grande katastrof-nole-nole-Applausoo" ;) ). We´ll miss You all! The food and the service in the Restaurants and Bar Tropical (Suite Area) were Excellent as well (except the "strange" taste of Coffee in both Main Restaurants). See You soon again! :)

We satyed at this hotel in suite for one week and our family impression was overall good. Stuff was ok. The most helpful and frendly people was the entertaiment team and girls from Kids club (Mini club). Cleaning in room was a true disaster. Nevertheless we had a good vacation. Hotel is situated near dunes, aprox 15 min from beach and nice promenade in Meloneras. We did not find food at the hotel very good, since my husband is a vegetarian and for him it was a very little choice at the buffet. Instead of ordering all-inclusive we were enjoying meals outside the hotel. On the hotel territorium there is 2 nice restaraunts with chinees food and italian. We would advise to visit them bouth. good prices and tasty food.

In the hotel there is a two types of rooms- bungalows and suites. Suites have no kitchenet inside and have a little bit better furniture, than bungalow. For all-inclusive clients will be better to take a suite.

Hotel is full of families with kids in different ages. Hotel have also big playing area for children and every pool has a little pool for kids 0,5 m deep. Kids club have programm for every day and there is no problem to trust your baby in the kids club's stuff hands, while you are taking sun in a sunbed near the pool.

I dont think it was a 4 star hotel value, but we had a good time anyway.

We found a perfect hotel in Maspalomas:
Nice comfortable bungalows, well furnished, quiet, nearly luxury....
Food: excellent......choice and taste are perfect
Service of the stuff: really 4 stars value.....
Only the Caipirinha and the Pina Colada are louzy......lol

My wife and I have just returned from 7 nights at this accommodation, the Bungalows are very basic but comfortable. The complex is spotlessly clean with very good facilities (pools x 2) Bars, restaurant etc.The bungalows are too dark and dingy and very hot as you cant leave the doors open due to being ground floor. The location is fairly good, a 20 minute walk to the beach or a free bus 3 times there 3 times back. The staff are really friendly and very helpful, the food is very good with a wide selection to cater for all tastes and the drinks selection is superb. However, the holiday was marred by rude non-british people who must insist on reserving sunbeds before the 9am stated time and if you were lucky enough to find a nice spot people would attempt to crowd you out and harass you until you moved. The All Inclusive bar stopped at 11 pm so if you went out and came back late you had to pay. But, all in all a nice place for a break but they could learn a few tricks from their sister hotel.

Room Tip: All bungalows are the same

My husband and I have recently returned from Dunas Maspalomas Bungalow Resort - Very disappointing. We arrived late on the first night and had to find our way in the dark to our bungalow. The 'bungalow' was basic and a little tatty, ie stained bath, flaking internal and external walls, poorly fitting curtains, no air con, although there were some with it, and a pet cockroach - the patio was in the shade with no view and I wish now that we had asked to have a room change. Food was average and repetitive. There is supposed to be a dress code for dinner but this is not adhered to. Staff had a poor grasp of English and were dismissive. General impression was that the resort catered primarily for Spanish and German, Brits were second class customers. The 'entertainment' was very poor and catered more for children. They advertise a disco bar but there is no disco and no dancing. Outside of the resort the area is run down and there is nowhere to go, so you end up getting taxi's into the more expensive beach area. On our last day we paid 30 euros to keep our bungalow for the day. We were informed by our holiday advisor at the arrival meeting that we would be allowed to keep our wrist bands/all inclusive status until we left at nine that evening. However we were required to hand in our wrist bands at 12 midday. However, there were other Brits at the resort who kept their bands and all inclusive status (some on the same flight as us).We spoke to our holiday advisor (situated in the opposite hotel) who had an argument with the manager of the resort over the phone. The manager actually accused the advisor of lying when he was informed of a meeting the previous week where this arrangement was apparently agreed. We did not have our all inclusive status reinstated although we spoke to others who had had their wrist bands returned after complaining to one of the receptionists (It appeared that it would depend which member of staff you spoke to). The manager was rude and arrogant and was selective about when he would be able to speak and understand English. On the up side, the pools were nice! - Never again!

Room Tip: difficult if you arrive at night as you have to find your room in the dark. Ask for air con as there...

We stayed end of august for 10 days and we got a nice bungalow away from the main pool area (traveling with a small kid). The weekends were some more noise so we just organized some beach and island tours so we were back in the hotel with time enough to have a bad at the pool.
During the week the hotel was much quiet so we decided to stay in the pool areas.
The bungalows are just beautiful, big and very clean. The staff were also very friendly.
The entertainment was more focussed for children but we also had a good time with the shows and their team.
We will for sure come back, but probably not in august.

Room Tip: In summer its better to choose rooms away from the main pool, specially when traveling with kids. T...

We stayed in the dunas bungalows with a newborn baby and it was comfortable enough accomadation but not much else.the cleaners were the only friendly staff.we arrived late at night and were left in the dark to find our bungalow and struggle with bags and a pram.the bungalow itself was fine but you wouldn't want to spend too much time in it.the pool area isn't very big and sun loungers are all cramped together.the staff all speak german but little english so we struggled with spanish because neither of us spoke german.the food was also catered more so to the german tourists.the night time entertainment was only on at the wknd and again they spoke in german so we were lost.over all we left dissapointed with our choice the location was fine its a 10 minute walk to the beach and prominade.
