This was my wife pat and my second holiday at the mirador, the rooms are spacious and clean, the reception area is kept to a high standard.
The restaurant is maintained professionally the food is cooked well and a selection of dishes means you never go hungry.
The jewel in the crown is the animation team they are fantastic ,they work their butts off to entertain amuse and generally make your stay fun also if you want to just relax they do not hassle.
Over all I would recommend the mirador and hope to return next year

Room Tip: ask for pool view

We arrived here on Saturday 12th of April for 2 weeks all inclusive .. reception was fine with check in made easy by a young lady who was called Maribel .
We were in a suite that was very clean although the bed was not made up but this was soon sorted , the room was very clean and tidy ...
the hotel was very busy as we expected with it being the school holidays , what we didn't expect is the queue for the Sun beds at 08-20 in the morning with everyone rushing to put there towels down at 09-00
And within minutes every sun bed was taken ,, I didn't mind this but when I noticed the staff putting towels on for people who then don't turn up until gone 12 that really peed me off.
These were Spanish so probably friends of the staff but it shouldn't happen..
Even better was the fact that there was three couples and only one of the couples was all inclusive
You can guess which 2 were busy going to the bar for food and drinks , how or why the hotel staff never noticed this is beyond me
The food is quite a good standard for a 3 star hotel,( been in worse) there is ice cream , watermelon or the odd cream cake that doesn't taste of anything. The main meals are very repetitive as is breakfast but this is a 3 star ...One of the bar staff on the pool bar was very selective on who he served, you can see him blatantly ignoring people ,where as the others were very pleasant,
This hotel is probably good when not at full capacity, unfortunately it was at full capacity when we went , and we paid a lot of money for a relaxing holiday but this isn't going to happen as you start the day hunting down a Sun bed .. i did contact first choice about this but they did not help at all,, and told me to see the hotel management , which i did and they were very helpful and did all they could ,especially Angela in customer relations, but when there are more guests than sun beds its not easy ,they did put sun beds everywhere to try and help this, ..
I would return to this hotel but not in the school holidays and not at the price i paid to first choice..

There is no air con so so i would imagine that it will be stifling in the summer months ,
there is a free bus down to the beach at Faro and plenty of lovely restaurants and designer shops, taxi's are 4/5 euro's...
On the last 4 days of our holiday there was an under 14's girls football tournament in Gran Canaria and around 200 were stopping in the hotel with the coaches and staff , and although this meant it was busy at meal times they were all extremely well behaved and a credit to there coaches schools and parents..

Room Tip: we were in block D which only gets the sun for a couple of hours in the morning where as block B get...

Stayed at the hotel for 7 nights from the 19th April, hotel accommodation was fine for spring time but wouldn't chose this hotel in Summer time due to lack of air conditioning and a fridge in the room! Bar, restaurant and entertainment staff were very polite but the reception staff are somewhat different....very rude/sharp on some occasions. Me and my partner presumed the hotel would be a place of piece and quiet which was the case until the 3rd night in - 2 spanish lads moved into the room next door and consistently played loud music from around 5pm - midnight which in turn is not ideal if for example you are looking at settling down an infant for the evening should you wish to bring them. Complained on 4 occasions to reception which a phone call was made to the room in question about turning the music down, on one occasion I went to reception which they made the phone call in front of me - which prompted the receptionist to speak in spanish to the gents with a sarcastic smile on her face, I found this to be offensive because she could have been saying "its them moaning b&st&rds from room x, can you turn the music down again please?". After that I spoke with Angela (Customer relations) who let us move rooms (2 days after the original complaint), when we moved rooms a gentleman came to our door and asked "Why are you in here?, you are in my room?" - we explained that we have moved to this room so obviously they had been an admin error during the room change, I went with the guy to reception and he was dealt with by them.

On the whole the hotel was value for money. Pool, weather and food/drink was fine, as mentioned previously I personally believe it would be to hot through the night staying in this hotel without air conditioning and access to a cold drink from the fridge.

Obviously we may have just been slightly unlucky and this is the first time I have written a review about a holiday as sometimes people slate hotels for not having 18 carrot gold taps!

Room Tip: Any room facing the pool area.

Stayed here for a week 8th Feb with brother and sister in law, now where to begin ! On arrival were given two rooms over looking motorway which were not in the best state of repair ( stayed in for one night only )
Went to see our rep the following day to complain as we're told this hotel on flat, which is what we had asked for as Husband got bad knees this hotel right at top of Sonneyland, also told this was a 4 star which it is not its a fair 3 star anyway finally after 5 hours of arguing with our rep the manager of the hotel went to look at our rooms and told us they only usually put the younger guest in these rooms and moved us to really nice rooms in block 4 which had really nice views of pool and surrounding areas, food basic and repetitive but were weren't that bothered as we always like to eat out but be warned only one restaurant at top of hill so we were having to pay taxi fares every nite to go out to eat and no local bars to say to go for drinks , sun loungers are far to close together that's if you can manage to get one ! Pools are really cold. But on the plus side the staff here work really hard, our rooms were cleaned daily, towels if you want clean ones all you have to do is fold them up and leave on floor then they will be changed. Would we go back NO but that's our personal taste. Would really like to thank the manager who did everything she could for us, so if anybody has any problems all I can say is that they pull out all the stops to help.

We spent a week here the end of March. Staff are really friendly and there's a nice atmosphere about the place. Spotlessly clean. Nice big rooms. Had a great ground floor room in B block, fantastic spot but not being able to leave the door open at night and no air con, meant it was a bit stuffy.
We knew the hotel was a fair way from the beach, so was prepared for that but did miss being able to pop into the resort for a quick walk. We did go out and explore a bit though. Went to Puerto del Mogan on the bus (very cheap), which is beautiful. Walked into Maspolomas and Playas de Ingles and got a taxi back.
Food wasn't as varied as some hotels we have stayed at, particularly at breakfast, not much variety of fruits which I like but plenty of meat and salad at dinner.
During our stay, the hotel had about 150 ten year old lads staying, who were participating in a football tournament over a few days. I felt this was a little unfair to the others staying in the hotel. While I'm all for children and in all fairness the lads were well behaved, but the noise level in the restaurant was ridiculous. We sat outside most mealtimes while they were there.
We liked the 9am sunbed rule, as it meant you didn't have to get up at silly o clock to get a bed. Great atmosphere around the pool. Entertainment staff work hard at getting people involved, without being pushy and are really friendly.
Overall, this is a great hotel but we probably wouldn't stay here again due to the location. Also we like to try different places.

We stayed for 4 weeks at this Hotel from 10th Feb to 10th March. The Hotel is lovely and ticked all the boxes for my hubby and me. Very clean and friendly staff especially Miquel the barman who kept me topped up with ron meil without asking. The food is of good quality even the food round the pool was good. We didn,t go to the entertainment so can,t really comment but the entertainment staff during the day worked very hard and there were lots of activities to join in if you wanted to. Only one negative was the coldness of the pool, it could have been a bit warmer. There is a Spar shop round the corner for all the things you may need and also a phamacy practically next door. I also think it is worth paying for a pool view. We are booking next week for the same time next year. Thankyou Angela for your help.

Room Tip: Request a pool view in B Block

We have just returned from Dunas Mirador after spending 11 nights there.
Overall the property is well maintained and clean, food was really good plenty of choice, nicely presented and plenty of it. We did eat out a couple of times. Pool bar staff were great especially Miquel and Pedro, drinks were generous and good quality. The hotel is on a steep hill and has loads of steps around the complex, there are lifts in all the blocks.
There are no hairdryers, kettles or fridges in the rooms. You need to take your own beach towels.
The 9 o clock pool rule was a bit ridiculous as no one is allowed in the pool or near a sunbed until 9 o clock. The pool attendants remove any towels left on the beds before 9!!

The animation team?? Who are they? they never made themselves known to us and we didn't speak to one member of the team, while we where there. They seemed to stick to their own nationalities, the activities we saw were mundane and repetitive.
There are no drinks facilities in the reception area after breakfast has finished. The reception area could really do with a coffee/tea machine.
There is a small shop in the hotel selling a good range of stuff although slightly expensive.
The grounds are very compact and well looked after.

We did have a really good holiday and I would recommend a Block A fourth floor room as you get a view of the mountains, pool view and sea view if you strain to look over block B.

Room Tip: Block A room 402 - 412 pool view, mountain view
