Bahia Meloneras Bungalows
Reviewed March 13, 2012

We have just returned after a holiday in Feb. I travelled with my mother, sister and aunts, we had a wonderful time. The location of the bungalow was fantastic, a few minutes’ walk to the beach, small supermarket and lovely restaurants, we loved the area. I was a bit nervous about property because I had read previously that some of the properties were tired, the property was good, a little tired but perfect for what we wanted. The pool area is lovely and very well maintained, the pool is not heated but that didn’t bother us. I have to say we found Lisa Dickinson to be extremely welcoming and helpful, whatever we asked for we got, extra towels, extra pillows etc. When she was passing she would pop in to see if all was going ok. We will definitely go back and will definitely book again with Lisa.

Not long returned fom 9 nights at the Bahia Meloneras Bungalows complex. We booked via holiday lettings and stayed in a 2 bed villa managed by the delightful Lisa. We were met at the neighbouring H10 hotel complex and taken to our villa. Very comfortable accommodation, I could not detect any signs of tiredness as detailed in other reviews so this may not necessarily relate to the accommodate managed by Lisa. Ample space for us two, would be plenty for 4 people. Accommodation boasts two bathrooms, fully equiped kitchen with all that you could need for your stay as well as TV and DVD player. Accommodation was clean, in a great location with a lovely front garden with sun loungers, table, chairs, comfy sofa chairs whilst there was also a small courtyard at the back. Location is fantastic for the resort of Meloneras, the accommodation is a short walk to Maspalomas and a taxi ride away from Playa Del Ingles and the Yumbo centre.

The complex itself was safe, clean and had a fab pool with plenty of sunloungers so no need to rush to grab your spot in the morning. Pool was unheated. Free Wifi by the pool was most appreciated! Would highly recommend this place for a holiday that is relaxing but close to the action if you want it with wall to wall sunshine!

Lisa and partner were fab, very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble whilst the booking process was a breeze! We will see you again in the future for sure! Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed in the Bahia Meloneras Bungalows fase 2 and the person we arranged our stay with was Jorge Amela who has a website www.bahiamelonerasbungalows.com He is extremely helpful and I can't say enough positive things about Jorge. He did everything he said he would and more. We had 2 families with 2 bungalows that were on the front row facing the H10 Playa Meloneras Hotel which is a lovely hotel with an amazing reception and pool area. It was very quiet in the complex as for whatever reason the place was at least 65% empty. No one had every even moved into a lot of the bungalows as there were no furniture or fixings. The pool area is gorgeous and huge and very well maintained but cold. There are bathrooms there but no other facilities. The bar area and restaurant have been closed since 2007 which is a real shame. The bar at the H10 Hotel is open and there are loads of restaurants just below that hotel on the beach. Ciao ciao is extremely good. There are also a couple supermarkets (small) with the restaurants. Maspolomas is a 15-20 stroll away with loads of more restaurants (Grand Italia is great) and an upmarket shopping centre.
Our 2 bed 2 bath bungalow was just refurbished and we were the first to use it. It was immaculate. Our friends' was more tired but just as clean and comfortable. We all loved the Bahia Meloneras and hope to be back ASAP for a longer stay. It was perfect and relaxing.

We have just returned after a holiday in Feb. A wonderful, safe and friendly place to go. The villas are functional and comfy. I agree with another review that the accomodation was tired but everything you need and such a quiet, relaxing place to be. Lisa was more than helpful in every aspect. The pool was cold but kids dont feel it. Near to some lovely bars and resturants. Totally recomended for a stress free fun place to be.

Good value for money. The apartment was "tired" in places.
Pool heating was one of the reasons why we booked the complex - it certainly wasn't heated.
The location was wonderful.
It was a shame the grass in front of the apartment was so worn.
There was only one sun chair - we had to brinbg a chez longue down from upstairs.
But the people who greeted us made us feel evry much at home and nothing was too much trouble.
The above point are only a few little issues - without them we would give 5 stars.

We stayed at Bahia in January of this year, on arrival the villal was not what we had expected as we have 2 your children and there were a lot of steps into the villa .... a nightmare for any parent. We called The lady who was managing the villla and she was fantastic, she arranged for us to be moved the next day to a villa with a garden and no steps into it, she also arranged for all of our belongis to be brought down, she even bought lovely gifts for the children as a token, which was a lovely gesture.
The property is fantastic and has a lot to offer, the pool area was amazing, even if the water is a little cold in January, but the play ground for the kids was great. Its a 5 min walk to the beach and great places to eat and drink. We would highly recomment this as a destination for familys.. just let them know about the steps in advance

Apartments are perfect, everything you need in them, 5 minute walk across road to nearest supermarket, restaurants & small beach, 10 minutes to all others & larger beach other side of lighthouse. BUT I read on a few sites as advertised by some owners & was told by someone on the main Bahia Meloneras website that the pool was heated in winter, December 20th til mid January some time, this is not the case & as I was told when I realised that it was absolutely freezing that it NEVER will be, it was heated one winter before & caused problems so will never be heated again. I could of got a 2 bed apartment with an unheated pool far cheaper than what I paid for the week here, the heated pool was important to me as I have small children, a baby included & thats why I paid alot, so was really disappointed that they couldnt go in it, my oldest waited til around 4pm in evenings to go in as it was very slightly warmer from the sun all day but was still cold being honest. Also dont waste money on lilo's or any childrens novelty water play things as they arent allowed in the pool & we were told the government has completely banned them from use in pools everywhere in Gran Canaria, swimming rings/arm bands are fine but thats it, also my 8 month old was playing with a very small light disney ball sitting beside the pool & we were told he wasnt allowed to as no balls are allowed at pool area,Id understand a group of lads or something throwing a ball at each other in the pool but a baby holding a ball in his hands is hardly going to land anyone in hospital!!! lol :-P

Room Tip: Seems that most rooms are rented private off owners so if you are looking for a particular area, ove...
