Really nice hotel. Very clean and rooms nicely decorated. Breakfast was buffet style but so much choice. The staff were very helpful. We were allowed to leave our bags in a locked room on the day of departure until late afternoon. In the bar a glass of wine only cost 1.75 euros!!

Room tip: The rooms overlooking the pool got the afternoon sun. Our room was overlooking a quiet road but only got the sun until 11am.

We had two double rooms which were both twin. The rooms are very clean however toilletries and glasses were not replenished for the full week we were there. The rooms were large enough however one of our rooms had a very outdated bathroom with a poor shower whereas the other room had a very modern bathroom with powerful shower. Don't really understand the difference.

You also only get one hotel room key as standard which I thought was odd and there was only one socket in the room unless you unplug the television. Again I thought this was quite unusual.

The spa facilities were included as free and had an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and heated seats which was a nice way to spend the morning on overcast days.

The buffet was not that great. The food was frequently cold however they do have a microwave (never seen that before!) and the food was quite limited particularly for children. We did go before the season started so this may differ in the height of summer.

The walls are also very thin and you can hear Everything in the bathrooms as though they are in the room with you. You can also hear conversations through the walls and the entertainment at night was very loud and didn't stop till around 11:30pm.

The location is ideal though but in fairness most hotels in Tossa are quite central as its a small place.

The hotel was fine but I wouldn't rave about it or really recommend it.

Never been to Spain on holiday so was attracted to Tossa because of the history and beautifal quaint streets etc... Stayed in the hotel for 1 week. Room was spotless. Overlooking the road which wasnt to noisey. Hired the safe and fridge which was promptly delivered whilst we were out although the cleaners did take the extra card for electricity.. Found the staff to be very friendly. Breakfast was nice. Fresh fruit galore. Cooked options and pastries. Very plentiful. We used the bar once but were out majority of the week at other bars in the town.
We went on the 4x4 jeep tour would highly recommend this. Also glass bottom boat.. Would recommend going to the bus station and getting the bus to Barcelona rather than buying through the travel agents in town. A whole lot cheaper.. All in all i couldnt fault the hotel. P.s i never visited the pool but when we did look around it there were plenty of sunbeds available.

Our (wife and I) first holiday at the Hotel GHT Costa Brava & Spa was through Shearings Holidays in June 2017, although it was our 7th visit to Tossa De Mar, the whole holiday was fantastic. We were in room 328 overlooking Carrer Barcelona, it was our seventh visit to Tossa and was just perfect. It was so good upon our return home we immediately booked another two weeks for June 2018 and two weeks in Sept 2018.
We arrived at the Hotel GHT Costa Brava & Spa on 11 June 2018 for two weeks feeling really excited, we were allocated room 341, we entered our room and was immediately disappointed that our room was overlooking Carrer De Nostra Senyora De Montserrat, we were facing a block of holiday/residential flats each with their own balcony. The Hotel is so close to the block of flats that on quite a few occasions throughout the two weeks we left our balcony and went back inside our room because it can get quite embarrassing looking into the faces of the residents across the road, it just felt uncomfortable.
We ordered a fridge for our room which was in the room within an hour, we were given a second door key card which is left in the keypad inside the room so that the power supply was not interrupted to the fridge when we left the room. We walked up to the local supermarket and picked up some bits and pieces.
After a walk around Tossa on our first day we returned to our room to find that the power was off to the fridge (the key card had been removed), there were three cleaners in the hallway and I asked them about the key card, all three denied any knowledge of the missing card. I reported this to reception and after around five minutes the housekeeping manager knocked on our door and handed back the key card, one of the cleaners had removed the key card.
We are both disabled pensioners and we spend quite a lot of time in our room, over the next 2/3 days, one or two cleaners would enter our room and upon realising we were in the room would just turn around and leave the room without saying anything.
After 4/5 days of the same thing happening it was getting a little tiresome, by now my wife had noticed that her personal things were being interfered with (make up, personal belongings etc), we also noticed that our clothes were being moved inside the wardrobes. When the cleaners entered our room again and left without speaking we did start chasing after them, all we got from them was “oh sorry, it is nothing”, they would pretend not to understand English or by the time I got to the hallway there was no trace of the cleaners.
We think that because we did not have a safety deposit box (we prefer to carry our money and passports with us) maybe the cleaners etc thought that we had hidden our valuables somewhere in the room. It is obvious to anybody that if a tourist does not have a safety deposit box because the lock is missing from the box inside the wardrobe.
We went down to reception and asked to speak with the housekeeping manager, she didn’t want to speak with us. We then asked to speak with the manager, he did come and speak with us but it was obvious he didn’t believe us insisting that his staff had been with the hotel a long time and maybe they had forgotten to change the towels or something like that. We told him that they didn’t even come right into the room once they realised that we were in the room and just turned and left. The manager wouldn’t have any of it.
The next day we went to our Shearings rep, she immediately went to the manager and spoke with him. He told her that he would look into the matter and get back to her. The next day we spoke with the rep again and she told us that the manager had looked at the camera footage from outside our room and also spoke with the housekeeping staff. He still insisted that there was nothing untoward with his staff and repeated that perhaps they had forgotten something in the room, he also stated that perhaps after mopping the floor there might have been surplus water actually underneath the door.
We can’t put any blame on the rep she could only give us the information that she received. After a couple more days we saw that a staff door leading to a lift was directly opposite our room door, it then became obvious, that when I chased after the cleaners and there was nobody in the hallway the staff had gone through the staff door and closed it. We obviously left our room at various times throughout the 2 week holiday, the most worrying thing was we had no idea how many times members of staff had entered our room and rifled through our belongings.
These incidents totally ruined our holiday, we did write to Shearings with a complaint and also to cancel our Sept 2018 holiday at the Hotel GHT Costa Brava & Spa when we got home. We received a reply stating that they had contacted the Hotel manager and he would be conducting a full investigation. However, we would not be told of any result from the investigation. Was a full investigation made or not? Your guess is as good as ours.
Apart from the problems we had, the Hotel is a slow 10 to 15 minute walk into Tossa, we consider the food to be repetitive but quite good, and you are always able to find something good to eat.The Hotel is kept very clean and the staff with a few exceptions are very polite and friendly, the rooms are quite adequate and also quite roomy. The pool area is kept very clean and tidy and is generally a quiet and relaxing area.
