Beautiful and authentic old town streets and quirky bars and shops.
This is the reason we came to Tossa.

I visited this old walled town on a number occasions during our holiday in Tossa de Mar as it has been well preserved and provides an insight to its past history. There are various approaches that can be taken some more physically trying than others. For those who find the climb too difficult there is a train that will take you to the lighthouse at the highest point. The views in all directions are breathtaking allowing photographs to be taken for future reference.
One small area has a bronze statue of Ava Gardner who starred in a film quite a few years ago. This is an attraction for people who want their photographs taken with this film star. There is a restaurant close to the lighthouse where meals can be enjoyed. There are various vantage points where photographs can be taken of the beautiful rock formations that make up this very attractive coastline.

The views from the top of this castle are fantastic and the climb relatively easy although there are two tourist buses which travel up here frequently. There is a statue of Ava Gardner here as she filmed her back in the 50s. The lovely cobbled streets are lovely to wander through and down the other size with great views of the small beach behind the castle.

Something really special about this place, so historic and atmospheric. The views of Tossa and the coastline are amazing. Even though it was quite busy it was easy to find a quiet space to relax.
