“Sets the standard for quality food in Tossa”
Reviewed July 16, 2010

We had not been back here for 18 months but the new menu was Intriguing so we chose to eat here one night-mistake,we did not check which night it was closed.
We returned the next night at 7.45 and found that 2 of the 8 tables were already taken the place is so popular.
Our choice from the menu were starters of stir fried beans with garlic and bacon, grilled tomato and aubergine followed by mains of stir fried squid and prawns, and venison stew.
With the included desserts we were spoiled for choice but we plumped for Orange Cointreau Mouse and warm apple with green tea jelly.
Delicious.
Sparkling water and fresh country bread was included and the bill, including a jug of wine, was €36.50
We cannot wait to return.

“How can they do it at this price?”
Reviewed July 13, 2010

Other tourists had told us to try this out as the menu changes each season.
We were spoiled for choice so we all chose a different item from the €13 menu. which includes country bread and water.
Starters:
Melon soup with cured ham (yummy)
Courgette stuffed with mince
Tomato,Aubergine,grilled with mozerella
Shellfish crepe
Mains:
Duo of fish-Tuna and Cod
Squid stir fried with prawns
Pork kebab with pineapple
Grilled chicken in herbs with baked potato
Desserts:
White chocolate cake with rasberries
Passion fruit icecream
Lemon and liquorice cream
Brownie with mint and walnut icecream

Absolutely stunning-how do they do it?
We went back twice and the bill including beer and house wine was less than €18 a head each time.

“Imaginative cooking at a very good price”
Reviewed June 24, 2009

Hello,

I went to this restaurant at the recommendation of a local. It was 12.90 euros for 3 courses including water and bread.

The menu is a cut above the usual fair of fish and meat with salad. I had stuffed cabbage leaves with chicken, pine nuts, walnuts and raisins for starter, 6'9 beef stuffed with mushrooms and peppers and came with a side of roasted potato wedges for main and delicious curd cheese, ice cream and raisins for pudding. My boyfriend had Arroz Cubana, delicious poached trout and ice cream fro dessert which was a tad dull according to him. Including a bottle of house white and very friendly service the bill came to 32 euros and was very enjoyable indeed.

“Newly opened -great Menu el Dia at €12”
Reviewed June 26, 2008

On a locals recommendation we tried this new place out , and returned the following week as it is such good value.
Originally a cocktail bar , and with the same furnishings , it is quite cosy with seating for less than 16 although you can sit at the tapas bar.
The menu dia is €12 , including wine and with choice of 8 starters and main courses and six desserts.Really interesting food choice ,some based on tapas but all freshly prepared and nicely presented and we think there is some passion in the kitchen
On our two visits we mixed and matched our choice(on our second visit we had two starters instead of a main course) and can recommend the roast vegetables with mountain cheese, the tuna and onion potato and ALL the deserts. Our bill, including some extra beer and an aperitif was €31.50-super value
The locals are using this place , which is a good recommendation but be aware this a base for the extended family so expect grandma/sisters arriving with kids for supper and children`s toys spread around so perhaps not the place for a quiet romantic evening .Later in the evening it gets quite busy with the tapas and bar customers.
We will return because they really do try to be different with the menu and they deserve success.
