Is a very nice and smalll hotel, with and nice and friendly staff. Rooms on the frontside are large with abalcony and having sunshine the whole day. Small indoor swimmingpool, but they can open the roof and it will be an open air pool. # 200 meter from the beach. If you like walking and bycicling it a great suurounding, otherwise in the whole town the are no places of intrest, but the Spanisch border is 3 km away and with the ferry you will be in Spain in 20 minutes.

A really value for money hotel.clean, pleasant staff and good food.
evening meals had good choices.
The morning breakfasts had plenty of choice but unfortunately the hot food from the self service area was cold on the three mornings we were there, even though we complained to reception after the first breakfast.the receptionist stated that she had told the catering staff of the problem already as other guests had already complained.unfortunately nothing changed while we were there.

Room Tip: the corner rooms of the building appear a little larger

We are staying at our holiday home in the Algarve for six months and decided to take the advertised weekend break at Casablanca Inn. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and access to British TV stations, not essential by unusual. Towels were changed daily and because we opted to stay for a third night we had clean sheets for that night.

The breakfast choice was wide and varied, from continental style to cooked egg and bacon etc. Evening meals were included as part of the weekend break. The menu gave a choice of two starters, three different main course choices each day together with alternative choices of omelettes or cold meats and then a choice of three sweets. The food was well cooked, nicely presented and more than adequate in quantity.

The staff were friendly, attentive and hard working. Most of the people staying at the hotel were retired, but what would one expect at that time of the year. A number were there for long stay holidays and all of those we spoke to had nothing but praise for the hotel and its service.

Having read some of the earlier reviews, most of which were complimentary, we were surprised that some were disparaging.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, especially as it gives such good value for money.

Room Tip: For long stay holiday makers, I suggest south facing rooms would give sun on the balcony practically...

We have just come back from spending a week in the Casablanca Inn in Monte Gordo over Christmas. I must admit that the dinners were absolutely terrible! Yes we had booked half board.
The breakfast was traditional English/Continental mixure of hot fatty Bacon breakfast to a yoghurt/fruity/cereals selection. They were served at 8 – 10 a.m.
The evening meal was between 7 – 9 p.m. This consisted of a 3 course meal. First course was normally a choice of 2 soups, one being runny and the other thick. Each soup had no herbs or spices in at all. A watery runny substance with no flavour.
Dinner there was 3 choices. However they did serve small portions! So if you have a healthy appetite you will certainly lose weight eating these! The meat dishes seem so fatty (they definitely brought the cheapest cut from the butchers) served with 2 veg. The mushroom or ham omelette and salad was an optional dish which consisted of a teaspoon of ham cooked with eggs and 3 small lettuce leaves with 2 slices of tomatoes and 2 of cucumber. Yes this was the main meal of the day, it was a joke!
It might have been nice to have extra things on the table to spice up the dinners too, like chutneys, mayonnaise and other additional dressings for even the dinners had no taste to them.
For sweet there were 3 choices. A sweet (normally a Portuguese cake) ice cream, or a fruit.
However they did make an effort for Christmas day dinner with extra vegetables and 2 starters and half a plate full of Turkey.

The rooms were clean with basic amenities. It would have been good to have cups and a kettle in the bedroom as there was a fridge available.
The staff was really helpful and the cleaners & waiters worked really hard to please everyone. The receptionist was really loud, as though she had been drinking all day! If you like the sound of ‘Olive Oil from Popeye’ then you would like her.
Cats were often lounging around the hotel on the seats, so beware of the fur on your clothes.
The reception and lounge areas were very dark (with low wattage lighting in the evenings) you could hardly see anything or use these community areas for games or reading etc. These areas were often empty.

We have just had a 3 weeks winter break here.A nice room with good wifi access. The meals were excellant & served by happy & friendly staff.A flat area with good walks in the forest or beach that is only about 200 mtrs away also bike rental in the town is €5 a day & because of the level cycle paths its easy for us older folks.I must mention the vegas type dance show at the casino its very fast moving with good music but a must see.The pool is covered which is good as there is sometimes a chill wind in the winter months in the Agarve.

Just returned after spending a week at the Casablanca Inn, Monte Gordo along with my husband and another two couples. Hotel was, as the name suggests decorated in a moorish style. The lamps and small bars were a joy - very comfortable and friendly. The staff especially George and 'Eusabio' in the bar were very attentive as were all the staff in the restaurant but unfortunately we did not get their names.
The rooms were very typically Portugese with an arabic influence - clean with towels changed every day! They were also huge and very soft and fluffy.
The breakfast was good and the evening meal most evenings excellent value.
The Casablance is very central to all the amenities in Monte Gordo and also the bus service can take you to Vila Real and then onto the ferry over to Ayamonte in Spain. In the other direction you can travel by public transport to Tavira a hidden gem of a city!
Weather lovely and then back to the rain - can't wait to go back.
Happy travelling!

Room Tip: Top floor - there are only two floors!
