We had difficulty finding the location. It is on a very narrow street, not identified by signs) that leads from a main square. Even our GPS was confused. We played, “you are getting warmer, you are getting colder” for 15 minutes before finally finding the correct exit from the square. Walking down the street, we almost missed the restaurant because it has no external signs that we could determine, but then it was the only place that seemed “open.” Our hostess/waitress was chatty, informative, and attentive. I would not describe the atmosphere as “romantic,” but it is intimate. The menu curiously separates Fish from Seafood. I had the red bean soup and fish with mango and ginger. My wife had a mixed green salad, and the chicken with mango curry. We also enjoyed a bottle of very good regional vinho verde recommended by the hostess. The ingredients for the salad were very fresh and tasty. We shared a baba de camelo for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. If we are in Leira again, we will definitely dine here again.
