This is a nice modern hotel with very good facilities, clean, quiert & with large well appointed rooms. The food is first class as is the service & the location is fine if you want to visit the old town or just spend a night as a stopover. Value was also very good. Will use again on our nxt visit.

Room Tip: Great views from the room top resturant & third floor rooms, not for those who dont like hights...

Stayed overnight on the way from Santander to Lisboa, this is an amazing hotel for the price and our second stay as its between 5-6 hours drive, so a perfect place to break, it’s fairly near the motorway slightly tricky to find, although my sat-nav took me straight there.
The rooms are very large for a hotel of this class, and very well equipped, great bathroom, with a powerful shower. Ask for a room at the back overlooking the valley, as the front is on a main road, and if you want a bit of a lie in ask for a room on the first or second floors, as the third floor is under the bar and dining room and you can hear chairs being dragged about for breakfast.
There is free parking alongside the front of the hotel but the hotel’s underground car park is very safe and we choose to pay as our car was full.
We had a drink in the bar first, lovely view of the sunset and ate dinner in the hotel which was excellent, had two main courses of sole and roast kid, a regional dish which was stunning.
The breakfast was a little hit and miss, we were quite late coming down so there was no bacon, or cups and the coffee machine ran out of milk, and wasn't replenished until a portuguese berated a member of staff, but on the whole a good selection and more than adequate. Overnight stay, drinks and dinner for 100 Euros.
Definitely a recommendation!!

Room Tip: 1st or second floor and overlooking the valley

I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and the first positive impression lasted during my stay. You can not ask too much of a 3 star hotel but the staff at the reception have a five star quality. Always eager to help and providing useful information. The room was very large and with mountain view. Guarda is a very small village in the north of Portugal but you feel connected because you have free wi-fi and you are 3 hours away from Lisbon by car. Breakfast was OK and dinner not gourmet but OK- Nice place to explore serra da estrela and the beautiful small villages in this area.

This is a very nice hotel, quiet modern and confortable, very clean and with efficient soundproof. The hotel is located at Guarda (a bit far from city centre if you are on foot, 5 min by car) at 30 min by car from Serra da Estrela and close enough to several historical and tipical villages like Sortelha, Belmonte, Trancoso...
Our room was large enough, very comfy and friendly. Breakfast was great, with lots of variety and quality. The hotel staff was kind and friendly as well. Tottally recommended, specially at the great rate I caught from booking.com - 61€ per night, double with breakfast.

This is a very nice hotel but 2 things stood out here that do need addressing by the management.
Firstly - the light globes are so dim that it is impossible to read a book in the room after dark. The only light suitable for reasding is in the bathroom!
Secondly - to charge for wi-fi in the 21st century is ridiculous. We have stayed in dozens of hotels and chambre d'hotes and nearly ALWAYS have wi-fi included in the rate.
The restaurant was very good and the breakfast was first class except the bacon & eggs were cold! A lovely addition to have hot brekky in Europe but then to find it is cold.
Overall a good hotel but needs to address the lighting and the wi-fi before we will stay again.
