We spent 2 nights in Flam and despite the rain, it was an enjoyable stop on our Norwegian itinerary. We opted for a balcony room in the newer section and the room was quite comfortable. There appears to be no air conditioning and only an electrical radiator. We didn't suffer but regulating room temperature could be a problem. There electrical system was a bit confusing. The heated floor in the bathroom wasn't working and had to be reset from reception. Our room later lost all power and it too had to be reset through reception. The electronic door lock was problematic and we needed new keys on the last morning. Bathroom was small, especially the sink, but it was functional. Rooms do not come with kleenex.
The staff were pleasant and accommodating both at reception and in the dining room. We had the evening buffet and were not disappointed. There was a good selection of hot and cold offerings. The breakfast buffet was also very nice.
Lastly, the building isn't that soundproof but fortunately the private functions on both nights didn't get too rowdy.
It's a lovely property with stunning public spaces and a view that is difficult to beat.More
