Owner description: Visit Ree Park Safari and have an unforgettable time in the exciting world of animals. Djursland's big safari park offers wild experiences and activities among animals from 4 continents. Take a train ride across the Northamerican prarie or go on a Land Rover Safari, driving around among the many African animals on the savannah. Continue the day with an entertaining bird show where the large birds of prey fly just over your head. The animals get extra close at feeding time. You can see Denmark's only cheetahs hunt for their lunch, watch the otters flock around their food and a lot of other exciting feeding moments around the park. The children will love a ride on one of the park's large camels, and at the playground there's an opportunity to burn off excess energy - under watch of the striped Sumatra tigers that live just next to it!

“You can't hug the lion, but you can get robbed by squirrel monkeys!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

The park is hidden in the middle of nowhere, so it can be a challenge to find it - unless you use the navigation system guidance, but I prefer the challenge style ; ) Anyway we found it! I love animals, so I am pretty sure that any animal enthusiast will like the place. There are many animals which can be approached and if you know how - you can "play" with them. The Lamas do spit! Then there is a safari tour, and they use old safari Land Rovers for it - just like in Daktari episodes, if somebody should remember the old TV-serial. Some animals can't be approached by safari tour e.g. lions, bears. There is also a bird-eagles shows - really nice one. Prices are acceptable. I suggest to estimate approx. 4 hours.

“Great zoo with safari and camel riding!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

Our family has a 6,9 and 11 year old and they all loved the zoo. We easily spent from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. there. It cost 40 kr more per person for the safari, but it was worth it and 30 kr. more for the camel riding, which was also worth it. Though the total cost with safari and camel riding + entrance I think was a little high. The kids even loved the (free) canoe ride and we ate some wild raspberries at the other side of the pond.

We loved that there were many of each kind of animal, they were active and fun to watch. Especially during feeding times, which were always on scheduled time. The monkey roamed freely in the habitat we got to walk through which the kids loved.

The walkways were well thought out and it didn't feel like we had to walk forever, which is a plus with younger kids.

The only drawback that I saw was that the information during feeding time and also the bird show was only offered in danish. So my kids that speak english did not understand what was being said at all. It made the birdshow a little long, since there was a lot of talking involved.

“A great zoo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012

The whole family enjoyed the vsit to Ree. There is lots to see so be prepared to stay several hours.
The jeep safari which takes you across the savanna is well worth the expense. You get to see the animals really close up and also get som background info on the different species.

The monkey island was a fun experience as you get extremely close to the monkeys. Do follow the safety precautions and keep food stuff out of sight or be prepared to lose it..

The park has several picknick areas and bbq areas so go native and bring your own lunch.
We also enjoyed the bird show with eagle, wild turkeys and a vulture among other things.

You can by some great souvenirs in th shop, almost all of the animals in the park are available as stuffed animals, even the vulture.

“Nice zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012

We really enjoyed the zoo, though a lot of the animals were hard to spot. As I read from other reviews this would have been better if we payed for the jeep tour, so I guess that would have been worth the extra money...

The area where you can walk amongst the small monkeys is very nice, and the kids loved it. Bring your own food if you are spending a whole day, the picnic-area is nice and next to a fun play ground.
