“Pricey but worth the splurge!”
Reviewed October 3, 2011

We had a very different experience from the terrible and poor ratings. We loved being in the middle of nowhere feeling like we've arrived home to our castle each night. Yes, a bit difficult to find, but get a GPS for goodness sake. The place is gorgeous, food in the restaurant was superb and the larger rooms are heavenly. We got Room 10 as did one of the Poor raters and yes it was not acceptable, but we were able to switch to Room 9, my sister and her husband were in Room 8. Both rooms were amazing, if you can afford them!! The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. We splurged on the dinner at the Manoir one night and since we were staying there and lingered after dinner, the staff let us have after dinner drinks and a few surprises from the kitchen in front of the fireplace. It was an amazing place to stay!

Stayed with three adults for long weekend. Beautiful building and nice surroundings. Service rather poor, however, and certainly not commensurate with the high price level. Far too few staff available (long waiting times, we had to log our own luggage up 3 stairs) and the ones which did show up occasionally had quite an attitude. WiFi did not work. Spa was deserted, but still impossible to get a treatment without reservation 2 weeks in advance. Price levels for drinks are absolutely ridiculous. Mind you: one bottle of mineral water will set you back 11 euros. And that in Spa, the capital of mineral water...

Upon arrival we were very impressed by the building an its location. We had a reservation for the restaurant and choose the menu. The food was good, .... when you finally got it. After two hours we were only served two starters, when we asked for an explanation we were told that one person did not show up in the kitchen, This might explain why everyone had to wait for hours (at some tables the guests even left, tired of waiting) to get some food. But why did guests have to get their own wine (it is one of those restauarnts where they put all bottles of wine on a central location and not on or next to your table) or bread. Also other details were not acording to the price level of the restaurant: the white table cloth was stained, there was a big stain on the curtains,...

Just for one night, a ravishing way to escape from the city and breathe. The rooms are beautiful, the food is splendid, the spa delightful. A bit expensive all right, but I sure don't regret it!

I stayed at the manoir twice, the first time ca. 2 years ago and the last time in spring 2010.
It's somewhat hard to find, so make sure you have a navigation system. The first time I came, the Domaine de Lebioles wasn't even in the SatNav and we had to ask for the way repeatedly. Don't rely on signs, it's impossible to find without clear directions.
The area is beautiful, all forest around, great for walks, hikes, or jogging (easy to get lost though, happened to me). When driving up to the manoir it's a magnificent sight, elegant, royal, posh. I find the property itself absolutely impeccable, modernly art-deco-style renovated inside, topnotch technology (flatscreens, DVD players, designer-bathrooms). The new spa is great, they have a steamroom, a sauna and a pool, beautifully designed.

Service is not very good, apart from the warm welcome. The spa was unattended, and despite we asked for spa treatments at check-in (they said to check back in the morning cause the "lady" was gone), nobody was there the next day either. The owner was present, but did not care to interact with the guests. The restaurant is closed during the week.
We came somewhat late to breakfast and found the buffet to be a bit poor.

We stayed at the Suite Royale the first time and at a Suite Castellane the second time. While I found the Suite Royale very nice (not too big, but nevertheless), the Suite Castellane was definitely not a suite but the size of an average-size hotel room.
One note: the rooms that are said to have fireplaces: they cannot be used or lit. The Suite Royale had a few candles; if you want to create a magic moment, bring many tealights and put them in the fireplace and around, that'll almost make up for the lack of a proper fire.

All in all, a bit pricey, but a princess/royal/magic experience, just because of the beauty and the location of the property.

We visited the Manoir de Lebioles for my mothers 70th anniversary and we were so enchanted with the beautifull and romantic castle and its grounds. It has been renovated with a lot of taste and capital. Not one detail was wrong.

The view on the woods from the terrace is unique for Belgium: woods as far as meats the eye.

Although this hotel is not made for families with children, they went out of their way to make it as pleasant for them as for us.

Moreover, the food of the restaurant was of very high level.

We also used the spa with the whole family and it was the most beautifull pool we have seen in a hotel.
