“Good beachside location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Good location, almost right next to the beach. Large family room with two bedrooms and large intervening corridor.

Bed quality average - not the best night's sleep, but OK.
Be aware that there are two staircases and lift shafts that go to entirely different parts of the hotel, and that are not connected to each other on the upper floors.

Evening meals were OK. Better quality than provided in some of the restaurants in the town.

The breakfasts were hectic. The restaurants were crowded and the fruit juices, milk, croissants, bread etc were frequently run out, too quickly to be replaced in time.

Be aware that car parking is difficult in this seaside resort. The hotel has a car park, but which is not sufficient to cater for all of its guests. I managed to park on the street outside the hotel. This is free parking, but when we arrived I had to drive around for over an hour before I managed to find a space. Parking spaces are even more limited when you have a roof box. After I found a parking space, I decided to leave it there for the rest of the week because of that difficulty. Other cars next to mine were similarly parked for long periods, even during the evenings and nights. Consequently, we didn't go sightseeing by car, but at least there's a regular tram service to other towns.

We stayed in the hotel for one night. The staff was friendly and the room was average. It could use a refreshment. The room size and the bed were very good, but there were a lot of little flaws (p.e. cracks in the wall, a light without a bolb, ...) The bathroom was okay, but the sanitary shows out-dated and not so clean. It was also really strange that you had to pay 10 euros bail at the reception for the key of the minibar.
The breakfast was a buffet. So you can eat all you want and the bread was fresh. Further the breakfast was a standard european hotel breakfast.

We had a voucher to pay our stay. The amount of the voucher was higher than the price of the room. At the reception they gave us a voucher that we could use in the hotel, the restaurant or the bistro. So that was really nice that we had so many options.

We arrived in Nieuwport on the monday as a group of 32. We were allocated very good rooms with plenty of facilities I have no critism about any of the rooms. However the food we recieved was shocking! Nothing we recieved constituted as a meal and for many of the nights we ended up spending money on food around the city. Breakfast was abysmal with the choice of bread and Jam or processed cheese/ham. Again we ended up making do with food from the town. Apart from that the location was fantastic with the beach less than 6 minutes away and plenty of historical sites within an hours drive. overall it was a good trip but we will not be returning to the hotel until some improvements are made to the food!

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the street as the view is better

We stayed as a family of 4 in tis hotel at the end of 2011 for a weekend.
The room (family room) was spacious & modern.
Kids had a separated bedroom & there was a balcony, big enough for 2 seats & a small table at both bedrooms.
The hotel is located at 50 meters from the beach.
Staff was very professional & helpfull.
The breakfast was wonderfull with a great choice of food.
Positive:
- central location, not (to) far from the beach
- updated rooms
- great choice of food at breakfast
- family rooms with separated bedrooms
- modern bathroom
Negative:
- breakfast was crowdy
- noice of cars in the morning (located at one of the main roads entering Nieuwpoort)

Conclusion: I would go back & recommend this hotel.
Had the feeling of being at a 4 star hotel

Room Tip: Family rooms are nice & spacious

Visited this hotel from 24 to 27 November. Fantastic visit. Excellent location - the kids loved the beach in November - excellent attitude from staff. Never a problem to replace a room key. Good food, although pupils were more restricted than staff. Water provided at meal times. 1 room was rather cramped with 5 beds, but the rest were superb. The kids were very happy, and the staff even more so. Will certainly be back I am sure.

There were 21 kids and 3 teachers altogether and we went for 5 days in october and it was so much fun. The room I was in with 3 of my friend was so modern, big and clean!
The food I didn't like because I am fussy but everyone loved it. The beach was so near but we weren't allowed to swim but we did go to the beach and played rounders :).
There is a lot to do in Belgium and would go again!

Room Tip: You have to bring soap we had to and there wasn't bath towels just hand and a normal towels. WE...

this hotel is conveniently located at 50 meters from the seaside and the main shopping street of Nieuwpoort-Bad. The rooms are very clean and modern with all necessary comfort and quietness. Some could be more spacious. The breakfast is good and well stuffed with fresh products. This is not a five star palace but is certainly more worth than 3 stars quotation. It might be 3.5.
Very convenient and comfortable hotel for a short holiday break at the belgian coast.
Its restaurant, "Comilfo" is very good and worth while a diner at night.
