I will be short about this place: The owner is laughing all the way to the bank every day. This is an Italian restaurant for non-Italians who don’t have a clue about Italian cuisine but who have very fond memories of their visit to Southern Italy fifteen years ago. This is a typical ‘Cucina Belga/Francese/Italiana’.
It is extremely expensive for what you get, I know that Knokke charges 15 to 20 percent more, compared to the big cities but this is a joke. I know better Italian restaurants in Knokke who don’t overcharge.
The food is plain, it is not good or bad, it is nothing special.
The wine menu is a must-see thing: you can only pick the kind of wine. So you’ll see. ‘vin blanc: Sancerre’ or ‘vin rouge: Barolo’ but you can’t see which bottle of Sancerre or Barolo you are getting. Ma dai, è esagerato! The owner has no real answer if you ask him about this practice. But he keeps playing his role as the warm, charming Italian to the perfection. Not my kind of place.
