Hi Craig,
You got an upgrade to a superior room in a boutique hotel.
In regards of safety, one should listen when being checked-in, you was told access is provided to the hotel through our "night-day" door which, happening to be a door gives you also the possibility to leave the building. We clearly explained you where it was and how to get in and out. Obviously you were in a rather "sleepy" state and didn't get half of what we told you. So indeed we didn't serve you any more drinks either.
Kindest regards,
Hotel Cosy

Bouillon is an adorable picturesque town that awakes during the weekend when tourists show up and sleeps during the week when the town pretty much closes. Well, not entirely. One small hotel of indomitable hosts still holds out welcoming guests in a near ghost town.

We found the hosts to be very nice and the hotel to be very charming and affordable. We stayed in room 102 and had a fantastic view over the town of Bouillon. There was a petty charge for a town view, but as you can see from my pictures, the view is amazing. Room 102 is over the entrance, but we didn't notice any noise from downstairs. We did hear our neighbors next door quite a bit.

The bed slept ok, and the room was well decorated. Not a lot of room for luggage though. Plenty of power plugs though. Good! The shower seems a lot more modern than the rest of the room and was good. Breakfast was included and delicious. A big spread with eggs, pancakes, breads, yogurt and cereal. The lounge downstairs is comfy and a wonderful place to read a bit after a long day of being tourist.

Pay attention to your navigation when you first go to the hotel. Lots of steep one way streets in Bouillon. Parking is in the street. Park wayyyyy on the side so you don't block the street.

All in all, we highly recommend this hotel.

Loved the view over the ancient town and fortress of Bouillon. Superbly designed bedroom. The only thing that somewhat marred our stay was the breakfast. The girl serving was obviously shy and only appeared to ask new breakfasters if they wanted tea or coffee. The tables were not cleared when people left and some had to wait for a table to be cleared to be able to sit down. There was no cooked breakfast which, at the rate we paid, I think is a must nowadays, even in a small hotel. It can be cooked per demand of whoever wants one, like in many boutique hotels I have stayed. Some of the tables were high, bar style, and sometimes you had no option but to use one. It made the room look stylish but for a buffet breakfast it can be annoying getting on and off your stool all the time. For the rest the place is squeaky clean very cosy and definitely a come back place.

Room Tip: Must have view on castle

We have been to Hotel Cosy a few times. Always with great pleasure!
Hotel Cosy is a family owned hotel, which gives it the cosy charater.
I'm always surprised to see so many people at the breakfast while we are very few enjoying the gourmet like dinner. Apperently other guest go and eat elsewhere in Bouillon, which is a big mistake! The dinner is definitly worth more than the price and one of the reasons for coming back to Hotel Cosy. Also the wine selection is quite good and the owner, Wouter, is always good for selecting an appropriate wine for the food.
From the hotel is a great view to the impressive castle on the other side of river Semois.
Rooms are nice and clean.
Don't expect a fancy hotel but rather a nice and cosy hotel with excellent food and friendly service.
We'll be back again!

Room Tip: Book a room with a view to the castle!
