The hotel is located near the beach, 5 min from the citycentre. The location of the hotel is amazing. The hotel is not a 4 star hotel, more a 3 stars! The rooms are big and clean but a little bit old and not cosy, they needed an update. The breakfast was good. The swimmingpool is nice. I think this hotel could be an amazing place, 5 stars maybe after a serious renovation. The price is too high for what you get.

We stayed in the suite with 2 bedrooms. The bedrooms where small and there was no airco. Be carefull when you pay the bill!! They charged us 59,50€ Taverne and when I saw the mistake 3 days later and called the hotel they said they couldn't refund me because they had thrown away all the tickets.
When I asked to speek to one of the managers the answer was no!

Have booked with our family 3 rooms type Marine (8th floor, front) which were spacious, clean, modern, with seperate toilet and plasma-tv. Website tells 50m2 big, but they are only 40. In the bathroom some things should be renewed.

The 2 elevators are insufficient and one can have long waiting times. The stair way is awful and behind closed doors. It is unfinished (concrete, not painted) and the personnel uses it as stock place. This is a four star hotel unworthy.

There is an underground garage, but it is expensive and also only for small cars. So be careful!

The restaurant looks chique, but we didn't visit it because it was extreme expensive for Flemish standards (€25 first dish./€38 main dish).

There is also a pool and a small wellness, behind closed doors, only free visit in the morning and the evening. Access during the day had to be paid, which is ridiculous because the hotel is not exactly cheep.

There are 2 big breakfast rooms, one in awful cantine style and one in a nice romantic style . Off course everybody wants a seat in the second one. The quality of the breakfast is not that well for a four star hotel. The presentation was no eye catcher and we had the impression that some things were not really fresh. Refill was not quick enough. Also healthy food and enough variation of fresh fruit was missing.

The personnel was correct, friendly but not social. We had a lot of French stagiairs whom couldn't talk Flemisch, which is a mistake of the management.

There is no animation in the hotel.

The website of the hotel looks great, although there are some serious service flaws that makes the hotel not a 4 star property.

I choose a 'marine' room with sea view. Checking in could have been friendlier, and no help at all with the bags, although they saw I was in difficulties. The full room rate and parking (18 euro/night, which is expensive) has to be paid upon checkin, that's a new one to me.

When opening the bedspread I immediately noticed several very big yellow stains, the bedspread obviously hadn't seen a washing machine in a long time. I asked at the reception to replace or remove the bedspread. The bedspread was removed, but without one apology or remark, not when I noticed it, not when checking out. The bathroom was more like a 2 star, with a small old and dirty showerhead.

The food in the restaurant was 'so so'. I found it very funny to be served scampi's and trout, while looking at the north sea from the dining room. I think that says it all about the freshness of the food.

The positive was that the room was spacious and the view very nice, but looking back on it the hotel wasn't worth the price, and certainly isn't 4 stars.
