“Great for all ages”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

My family and I went on it in July and it is great had the best day and went up on the chair lift which adds to the fun of it all. Would strongly recommend for all ages and my Wife liked the brakes (almost too much) because she could control it. My children and I went flat out and My son got to 40 km/h

“Bobsled coaster "from Himmel"”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

This is really fun with kids and teens. Major G-force felt and it's a blast for adults too. If you can arrange to come on a weekday, or time your visit when it's not busy, it's better experience as then you don't have to wait behind slower people or crowds. I love this bob, we come here often when in Lienz (we used to go all the way to Innichin for theirs, but this one is better). You can hike up the hill past the (Schloss Bruck) castle (Marked trails) if you want more of a workout before sledding down- easy 30-45 min hike. There is also a Kletter park / ropes course and free farm animal park near the bobsled on top. I am impressed by the safety and quality of construction. Although I don't think they'd be able to pull off this type of operation in the USA (too many lawsuit possibilities or insurance cost too high maybe?) although it's an awesome business idea for someone.

“Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Regardless of how old you are!!

New in Lienz in 2010 the so called 'Osttirodler' is an alpine coaster located on the Hochstein ski region in Lienz.

The coaster is over 2km long, one of the longest in the Alps, possibly in the world and claims to be the most spectacular of them all.

The ride down takes you through a series of twists, turns, corkscrews and long straights where it's possible to pick up speeds of over 40kph! The route runs through the forest and past Bruck Castle with superb views over Lienz, the Isel Valley and Zettersfeld. The car itself sits on rails and has a braking system if things get too fast for you. You can travel alone or with a passenger. Children can also travel on the Osttirodler to a certain height/age restriction. If they fall under the restriction they can travel as a passenger with an adult meaning this is the perfect fun adventure for the whole family!

Ticket price includes the cable car trip upwards (or walk if you are feeling sporty!).

It claims to be an all-year alpine coaster but check before hand for opening times if you are travelling in between winter and summer seasons. During quieter times of the year a reduced weekend operation is in place (Friday to Sunday).

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and also guaranteed that one time just won't be enough!
