Description: Tom and Axelle are pleased to welcome you at the Union Inn pub and eating house in Denbury near Newton Abbot and Totnes, a traditional 14th century inn overlooking the picturesque village green. The interior reflects a perfect balance between contemporary and traditional features, from the classic brown and cream décor to the glorious roaring log fires. The bar area has huge, comfy leather sofas where you can relax and enjoy one of the very popular lite bite dishes. The chef has produced a truly tempting range of evening and lunch menus for you to choose from, which change regularly according to the seasons, feature fish, game, meat and vegetarian dishes - all sourced locally where possible. There is an extensive selection of fine wines and real ales which have been carefully chosen to complement the food on offer. Alternatively, enjoy a cool drink or al fresco dining outside on the green, where there are tables and chairs the perfect place to enjoy a hot summers afternoon. With good food and and a great selection of real ales, the Union Inn restaurant at Denbury between Totnes and Newton Abbot is definitely a place worth visiting.

We have visited this pub regularly over the years. We have always found the atmosphere to be welcoming, the service good and the food appetising.

We arrived at this pub to notice there was a group of 'locals' stood at the bar, who proceeded to laugh at our drinks order because it was non-alcoholic. Our starters were poor. The mushrooms were not properly cooked in my partner's dish and my cheese wasn't cooked through to the centre. The mains were not any better, my pasta dish was swimming in water, it was a fish pasta dish but I imagine the fish were dead enough to not need water still. My partner's mushroom Wellington was the size of a buffet sausage roll and her vegetables and potatoes were reheated from lunch. Couple this with the arguments between the waitress and chef that we could hear from our table. A poor experience and overpriced.

Superb local pub with a great atmosphere. Friday night was packed out with all the locals, great atmosphere when you first walk in. Amazing and varied menu, we're booked to go back again with the family on Tuesday!

Went there at lunch time and it was warm and hospitable. The food was very good quality, reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Now we have discovered it, we will be regular visitors at this little gem.

We had a very enjoyable evening with friends here. The menu was varied, local and fresh - all tastes were catered for. Our friends are vegetarian, we are not but we all found something to our liking. Lovely fresh vegetables and good table service. Great beer, too! A bonus was the folk singing which started at 21.00 - some very talented singers here.
