Visited the Cherry Trees pub within the last month and found the food and pub in a process of change. I have read earlier reviews, the bad ones especially, and I can appreciate some of what was said. I have known this pub for many years and it did have the reputation for being unfriendly with basic, microwave type food. Since these later postings I have spoken to the new chef and the owner and they are working hard to raise the pub's reputation (never an easy or quick process). They are now committed to cooking both traditional and new style food and develop their outside spaces to attract more people. This pub is a classical Suffolk pub with beams and open fires, one that foreign tourists love. It's a lovely old building which is about to be tweaked (not ruined) to bring out even more the feeling of an old English establishment. They appear to be very genuine in their aims, which is to provide good value, delicious food with locally sourced ingredients; as well as properly kept beers and affordable, quality wines. Their plan is to combine all this with excellent service.
