“Halloween stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Had a 2 night stay with my girlfriend over Halloween, this was our 2nd stay in the hotel. Location, staff, food all top class. Nice swimming pool with steamroom although the sauna was out of order. Our only gripe was the room above no.413 must have had some baby elephants staying in it as we thought the ceiling of our room was going to cave in from about 6am til 9am. Corridors also quite noisy from people just walking by. Also, any time the restaurant was open we could hear music coming through to our room which seemed louder in our room than it did when we were in the restaurant. I would still recommend the hotel but ask for a room away from the restaurant and on the top floor.

Room Tip: Stay in a room away from restaurant and on a higher floor

We booked this break through 'Living Social' and were astounded at the take up & knew it would be good! We could not get the weekend we wanted and requested the hotel to come back to us with a cancellation. Like othewrs we didnt expect to hear anything but Erin in Reservations kindly honoured our request and we got the weekend we wanted!!! To cap it all we even got a fantastic room with sea view!!! On arrival and throughout our visit staff were helpful, professional and clearly had been well trained to cater for our every need! The food both in the bar and the resturant was superb and sitting looking out over the ocean for dinner and breakfast was something else!!! The hotel including the rooms was immaculately clean. This was also the case in the Spa area which is well worth a visit - why not slash out and book some treatments as we did and were not dissappointed. In fact the only down side is the price of food and drinks which we have already brought to the attention of the hotel. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and the Redcastle Hotel is worth every penny - sorry cent!!!

Stayed here for a one night stay(special getaway offer). Lovely hotel, the location is top class right on the sea front. Welcolmed by very friendly staff at reception, check in was very efficient no probs. The room was lovely nice sea view very clean bathroom was great, the only thing was the floors were very creeky we could even here people walking on the creeky floor above us but it didn't bother us too much. The swimming pool was nice changing rooms ok.
We had a meal in the edge restaurant which was included in our deal although we didn't have the choice of the full menu it was adequate and the food was lovely. The breakfast the next morning was buffet style but it was well presented and plenty of choice cant really complain about anything

We stayed in this hotel for the october bank holiday weekend. The hotel was lovely, couldn't fault it at all. The room was spacious and clean. Lovely views, pity about the weather. The breakfast catered for all, and the staff had no problem helping me with dietary requirements. We ate in the evenings in the captains bar and one of the staff, a girl named Kelvina was so pleasant and friendly to us. It really makes a difference when staff greet you with a smile. Would recommend this hotel no problem.

We are just home after celebrating my birthday. We got a great deal on Groupon. We were really impressed with the hotel and our room was nice although slightly disappointed we didn't get a sea view. We had drinks in the bar which was lovely and we ate in the restaurant on both nights...the food was amazing!!! Breakfast was nice although they seemed to run out of things quite quickly although the hotel seemed to be full. I had a treatment in the spa which was lovely. The only thing that really let the hotel down for us was the noise in our room. The floor boards were so creaky and we could hear the people above us from early in the morning. There is also a nightclub nearby and they were having a Halloween party so we were woken up around 1am. We appreciate there is nothing the hotel can do to control that though. Overall we had a great time for the money we spent. If we had paid full rate I would definitely have asked to move to a quieter room.

On a recent trip to Ireland, I changed my Living Social city to Belfast and found one of their specials for this hotel. We stayed for two nights with breakfast (in a lovely room overlooking the ocean), my husband enjoyed a round of golf and I had a facial in the on-site spa. The total cost of the packaged was about $140. (US). The room was spacious, the food (we ate in the pub) was great. The staff was extremely accommodating - all in all, it was a very special part of our trip to the Inishowen Peninsula.

Spent 2 nights in this hotel beginning of October. View when entering is stunning, however our room floor was the creakiest I've ever stayed in. The room was also dusty. We had a lovely view over Lough Foyle but I wouldn't be rushing back. We went to the bar on the Friday night and sat on the bar stools. Although there were 3 bar staff behind the bar, not serving any customers, not one of them acknowledged us. One of them then got himself a drink of water and started to drink it! He then asked us if we were being served???.... We were recommended by other hotel guests to eat in Rosotos bar in Moville, which was absolutely delicious. Didn't eat in hotel bar so cannot comment. Hotel doesn't compare with other 4 star hotels like Slieve Russell.
