Navabhrama Temples
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Outstanding architecture done way back in the 7th century and still stands tall. 9 shrines of Shiva. in the 14th century the jogulamba idols were hidden in this temple. Easily accessible off the Kurnool highway. You need to see it to feel and enjoy the marvellous architecture

Navabrahma sounds like lord Brahma. But, this is meant for Lord Siva. Alampur has 9 Siva temples which are unique of their kind. Each Siva Linga appears in different color. All these temples are very ancient temples.

Alampur has another speciality: Sangameswara Temple, about 1400+ years old was relocated and rebuilt as it was. Reason for relocation was it comes under the Srisailam backwaters and would be submerged after Dam construction. It took about 14 years to completely relocate and rebuild this temple.

Alampur has another specialty in the form of Jogulamba. This is called as "5th Sakthi Peetham" in India. With all these ancient attractions, Alampur is really a place where one need to visit.

Alampur has APTDC Hotel which is good to stay.
