We had a great time in Arcos, a great place to take it slow and la casa grande was a perfect place to do it. We had a well appointed room with an amazing view.

Last minute decision to divert here en route to Jerez- were absolutely delighted we did. The booking site was faulty so the 2 rooms booked weren't available but La Casa Grande moved one of our party at their own efforts to El Convento. We LOVED LCG- quaint room- double wih terrace- we thought on first glance this was two chairs perched on a ledge, so was a delight to see that this was just the top floor- another floor below with additional seating- and stupendous views. The hotel terrace also delightful- if a little hot in mid summer! Breakfast elegantly served, and overall the total experience was charming and would not have missed it! Arcos is a beautiful town/village- head for the Italian restaurant near the church- it's very good.

Room Tip: I'd go for a room with private terrace- not sure theyre the largest but the outdoor aspect seems...

Dear Mr. Helphand,

We would like to thank you for your comments and we are sorry for the inconveniences you had with the bed.
In your case, we could have offered you another bedroom, with the same conditions, but with two 105cm beds, if you had pointed out your preferences when you made the reservation. We consider that the problem was with the size of the bed.
In any case, we are at our guests disposal at reception to solve any inconveniences that may occur.

Thank again for your words about La Casa Grande,

Kind regards!

Loved the hotel, it is so different to your run of the mill hotel, more like a B&B.
We had a room with a balcony, the views were spectacular!
The room it self was very comfortable and rustic in a charming way.
Would recommend it to all.
The breakfast was really good as well.

The place has charm. Great personal service from the proprietor and her staff. Good location within the old section of Arcos for walking about the town. It's an old house with character. My room had a wonderful view of the river valley. Breakfast was fantastic.

We stayed 9 nights in a junior suite which we thought was pretty good value for the amount of space. Arcos is a small town but if you like wandering around old towns and the neighbouring countryside (although a steep hill on return) combined with drives to wonderful places like Cadiz, Jerez, beaches and the national parks where you can see hundreds of vultures, this is a great base. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some speak very little English but Elena and Matthius are usually on hand and full of useful information in excellent English. The welcome - a glass of sherry and some olives - set the tone and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. We had breakfast in when we were planning a walk and needed a good start to the day. We also had lunch on the terrace one day when Matthias put together a lovely, light snack. The terrace although not for the faint-hearted had an amazing view. Recommendations of local bars to sample some interesting local specialities were appreciated,

If you want lots of busy nightlife, perhaps not the right place but if you want some real Andalucia in a stunning setting,I can't recommend La Casa Grande highly enough.

We stayed in a lovely room right off the roof top terrace for 5 nights. The hotel was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by our host and offered sherry and olives in the main room. I loved coming in each evening to see flickering candles in all the rooms and on the stairs leading up to our rooftop room! The room itself was cozy and large with a very comfortable king size bed, modern bath, tv, cd player, and small sitting area. We did not have breakfast, but did get coffee each morning and took it up to our room. The only downside to the hotel is a lack of parking. We usually parked a ways down the street, but that gave us a long walk up to the hotel! We found this to be the case in many places we stayed--not enough room for all the cars!
