“Best meal in Arcos in an intimate cave”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

This is a charming bar-restaurant placed on a cave and run by a lovely couple. The menu includes grilled meat (lamb, porc, etc), cheese, ham, etc...as well as some few home-made dishes as 'pisto de verduras', 'pimientos rellenos', etc... and also some deserts, everything was delicious.

Even better than the food was the service provided by Paco and Maria, they are very friendly and despite not speaking english we enjoyed seeing him discussing and joking with a couple of american tourists.

“Great venue”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

This is the third year I've visited al caravan. Great hospitality and food. Theres a little Barbecue outside the front door by the better half of the owning couple, serving Fillet steaks, pork kebabs, lamb chops...all outstanding and silly vfm. You've also got to try the owners cured cheeses and salamis. Great place.

“Grilling the Meats!!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

We saw a woman starting a small charcoal grille at the door. My wife was skeptical, but inside, is a cool cave like bar area with small tables and photos and other memorabilia from flamenco artists. Really a neat place!

Francisco the Owner came over to take our order. We put him in his hands with his suggestions. His wife does the cooking (grilling) right at the entrance on the hibachi. She made us lamb stew ((estofado de Cordero), roast sausage (chorizo a la brass), and roast sirloin (solomillo a la brasa). We also ordered a gazpacho with a tinto vernano and a local red wine. All were good and each was €3 or less.

Total for food plus 4 drinks €19,20. Would certainly return here again.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Don't miss this experience if you are in arcos de la frontera. Very tasty food and nice portions. The owners are very hospitable...there is a stage for flamenco music and dance shows, if you are lucky.

“Mediocre at best”
Reviewed September 8, 2012 via mobile

AfteR having read the reviews in TA we went there for lunch. The food was nothing to write home about but we got a very nice local wine. It is like being in a dungeon which some people might find romantic we found it smelly and claustrophbic!
