“A wonderfull resort in front of the Dachsteins mountains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2012

We stayed one week in a unit including one bed room, the unit was very confortable including two balconies that one of them was with a view to the Dachsteins mountains.
The unit was very spacy including the kitchen (not full) but very usefull and enough
for us.
The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpfull.about the maintenance -we had a problem with the refrigerator (not cold enough) it taked two days to repair it.
We used to travel evry day from schladming to several parts of styria and tyrol it was wonderfull.
We recommend this resort !!!!!.

Thank you for your review – we’re delighted to read that you enjoyed your vacation at the Alpine Club. Our staff endeavour to deliver The Meaning Of Yes® to all guests, and we’re really glad that they were able to sort out the issues you had with the refrigerator during your stay.

We hope we will see you again soon!

Just returned home from our 4th visit to The Alpine Club and it's still as good as it was the 1st time.
The accommodation is spacious, clean and has everything you need including spectacular mountain views if you're lucky enought to have a room at the front. The staff are friendly, efficient and have extensive knowledge of the area. There is an onsite restaurant where Daniel will look after you, a tennis court, swimming pool and sauna and also a games room for the kids.
I would recommend the use of a car as the resort is located up a steep hillside and it will also enable you to see lots of amazing places. There are plenty of locations to visit and things to do from horse riding and white water rafting to going to the Dachstein Gacier where you can ski even in summer, there are walks galore suitable for everyone and some beautiful scenery so a camera is a must.
I wouldn't want to give too much away about the beauty of the area as its something you have to enjoy yourself.
As you may gather my family and I are fans of The Alpine Club and everything it and Schladming have to offer.

This is a very comfortable, top class timeshare resort. The apartments are of the best quality as one would expect of Diamond Resorts International. All the staff are so very friendly and helpful and the restuarant serves excellent and well priced food. Only problem is that it is closed on a Tuesday.
There is only one problem and that is the fact that if you don't have a car then is is a bit isolated and the local bus service is sporadic. Otherwise it is to be recommended.
We had a one bedroom and it was very spacious with a good sized bathroom with very large bath with a shower over it. Bedroom and lounge had a balcony and they even provide a dryer rail for hanging up your washing. TV was a bit small though, although as you only got about two English language channels we didn't watch it much.

Room Tip: The best rooms are those with a mountain view.

Dear Daiches,

Thank you very much for your great comments, these are most appreciated. The restaurant closes on Tuesdays during mid season months only. From December 15th and over Easter, July and August the restaurant opens daily, kindly consult our Website for detailed information in this regard.

We totally understand that our guests preferred view is the Mountain View, regrettably this is subject to availability on a first come first served basis and we are therefore unable to guarantee.

We hope to welcome you again in the near future.

Best Wishes

We've stayed here at least 5 times and really like it.

the place is well equipped with a bar/restuarant, mini-market (with the emphasis on mini) and a decent swimming pool. Wifi in the rooms (chargeable) was also good.

The rooms are really well equipped although with one small lift in each half of the building it is often quicker to take the stairs.

We've eaten in the restaurant previously and it's ok, but no better than that. The pizza take-away option is really good though when you don't want to face the walk to the town. It takes a good 15 minutes of walking (downhill) to get there and uphill (of course) on the way back. it's steep and you do have to be quite fit to go for it.

A few of the ski rental places/schools pick you up from hotel and that is really handy. Failing that there is a bus just outside too. It is well served by public transport. After saying that, we've always rented a car.

Lovely views across the valley from the well-equipped rooms, but the choice of english-speaking channels is very limited.

Our room (307) was perfect for 2 couples. Kitchen, shower room (no bath) and 2 double bed rooms. Living room with combined dining area was cramped however had balcony as did both bedrooms. Fresh decor.

Room Tip: Make sure the room overlooks Schladming otherwise you'll be looking up a hillside? Room 307 had...

We have reserved through RCI, and this hotel was just great. The apartment was spacious, luxurious, and stylish, the bathroom was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The swimming pool is very good too, but have not tried the sauna, because it is not for children (that is the thing in Austria, you have to use the sauna naked, which is strange for us Hungarians) and I was with my daughter. Would recommend it to everybody. Have not tried the kitchen though, because of my food allergies.

Room Tip: I think the furniture, carpets and bathroom was all new in our apartment, and it is not the same in...

We have just returned from a week at the Alpine Club, we had a nice time. The hotel is situated a short drive away from the Planai lift, which seemed to be the best way to get up to the skiing areas in the morning. There was a multistory car park which we used every day which was also free!

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well equiped, although our room did not have an oven, just a microwave and 4 hobs. There was a dishwasher too, and the hotel supplied dishwasher tablets.

Our room was seviced every other day with clean towels, although I do not recall the bed sheets being changed all week.

The little shop in the hotel was good to pick up the basics, but I would suggest popping down to The Spar Supermarket, which was a short drive away in the town centre.

We did eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner, and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. The main hotel bar was situated in the restaurant nd was very small. We did feel that whilst dinking in the bar, we intimidated the diners in the restaurant. Pehaps a separate bar area would be better. The restauran bar did not open unil 4pm each day, so we walked up the hill to another hotel to have a few beers in the afternoon. There was another bar which was in te basement, but this bar didn't open until 8.30pm and that was only if there was enough guests waiting to use it.

We used the pool few times, but I was nervous as I had heard people in Austria swim nude, but this wasn't the case. The pool was clean and warm.

All staff were friendly an helpful, no bad things to report here.

The kids enjoyed the games room in the basement, and bats/balls etc can be hired from reception free of charge. We did also hire DVDs from reception @ 2.50 euros per day.

On the whole, we did enjoy our stay at The Alpine Club, but would probably not return in a hurry, as we prefer 'ski in / ski out' hotels, there is nothing worse then having to get in a car a drive home after a long day skiing!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room!

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for your sharing your feedback with us, we truly appreciate your kind comments. I am delighted to inform that a pedestrian & ski tunnel will be constructed this summer (2012) under the main street leading to the resort, which means that next winter our guests will have easy access to the Golden Jet Gondola which brings you to the Planai, the option to ski back to resort from the Hochwurzen Mountain without the need of a car and, for holders of a valid ski pass, a free of charge public ski bus service at the resort entrance.
We understand that our guests prefer to stay in a newly refurbished room; we regret however that we are unable to guarantee this request.
I hope you find the information provided useful.
My team and I look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Best wishes
