Cyril and Mary bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable. Their elegant home is almost incongruous in a very rural setting not far from the Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy. It is a testimony to the days when shipbuilders owned large fine homes. It is not modern but they have wi-fi, comfortable beds, acceptable showers/jacuzzi bath, and an old fashioned parlor.

We had 2 nights in this B & B which is situated in a remote area and provides a nice quiet stay. However, be prepared to 70's style bedrooms and toilet facillities and bedding to match. The house and hostess were fine we just felt the house was tired.

We stayed at Florentine Manor for 1 night of our 2 nights visiting Hopewell Rocks. We wished that we had stayed there for both our nights. It is a beautiful old family home. A very traditional B&B. Mary shared the story of the house in a booklet found in our room. Our family room was very comfortable. Breakfast was at 8 am and very filling. We had the opportunity to chat with the other guests. Sightseeing recommendations were shared. There were lots of maps and brochures near the front door and Mary happily marked places on the map for us and for other guests. We would definitely recommend.
Thanks Mary and Cyril

We stayed at the Florentine Manor while looking for a B&B near the "Flowerpots" at Hopewell Rocks. What a gem! Mary and Cyril have operated their B&B for 27 years (she said the average for innkeepers is 5-7 years). They're in their 60s and 70s, respectively, and both were raised nearby in this spectacularly beautiful farm country. The home, built in the 1800s, is lovely with beautiful pine floors and 12-foot ceilings. The GPS took us hither and thither through dirt roads, but we eventually found the place after stopping for a lobster (which we ate on a picnic table) at the Alma Lobster Shop (fabulous!)
When we got to the inn, a British couple came in and told the owners that there was a "rather large creature in the driveway." We were all delighted to find a huge porcupine, who begrudgingly let us take his picture before heading back into the fields.
Since we didn't know exactly where we would be during our 3 week trip to NB-PEI-NS, we didn't make reservations anywhere in advance. And since this is what we's now told are the busiest weeks for tourism, our luck has been mixed in finding good-to-excellent accommodations -- this was a gem.
B'fast was at a set time (8 a.m.), and some may not like the lack of flexibility, but it enabled us to meet and chat with travelers from various places, which was great.
The setting for the Florentine (named after Mary's aunt) is right out of Scotland -- green, rolling hills. The only downside is that they've been in business for so long that they're now trying to sell the B&B - they've bought 40 acres nearby and will build. If anyone is looking to buy a B&B in New Brunswick, this would be a great one (by adding fresh paint on the outside, that is).
Our places listed in Tripadvisor nearby were booked and we didn't know what to expect when we found the Florentine Manor. Apparently the only reason it, too, was not filled is because it's out of the way -- but not by much. Definitely worth adding to your itinerary if you're looking for a night's lodging near the Hopewell Rocks. Thanks, Mary and Cyril!!

My spouse and I stayed at the Florentine Manor for 3 nights while touring NB's Bay of Fundy. Mary & Cyril were both very kind and Mary was especially welcoming, offering suggestions and motherly advise throughout our stay. She's wonderful. The accomodations were very good and clean in a beautifully restored house with personal history. We had a family room (one queen, one double), a large space for family although we were only two. If I had to offer a suggestion, maybe the bathroom could have used a renovation (looks straight out of the 70's) and a little more of a scrub (some dusty areas) but it was still very adequate. The breakfasts were hearty enough to keep us going throughout the day and straight through to supper. The location was pretty central with respects to Alma and Hopewell Rocks. No complaints - a very nice couple and a wonderful B&B.

We stayed at the Florentine Manor for two days during our vacation. It was a little tricky to find, but once we got there, we were welcomed by Mary. Our room was quaint and clean. The inn was close to many of the outdoor activities in the area: Hopewell Rocks, Cape Enrage, and the Bay of Fundy. They have plenty of information on all of the local restaurants and activities in the area, so even if you are unfamiliar with your options, you can easily find something to do/see.

We stayed as part of a group tour so Mary, the innkeeper, provided breakfast, picnic lunch and evening meal, the latter not normally being offered. Her cooking is old fashioned food to die for and after 4 nights we all left treasuring some of her wonderful recipes, especially her delicate muffins and the lemon drizzle cake. We found her helpful, friendly and approachable but some might find her reserved self-effacing nature off putting. The two local girls who help her were brilliant, and it was lovely to hear them in the kitchen laughing away with Mary as they learned her cooking techniques.
The previous review is factually correct about references to religious belief and family photos. Although we are not in any way religious, we didn't find any of this intrusive but I can understand the view that others might. Our room was fine, and spotless. Some arranged to have laundry done while they were there. It's convenient for Hopewell Rocks, Mary's Point nature reserve, Cape Enrage and the Fundy Nature Reserve trails near Alma. It's position is a little isolated but we weren't on a trip foucussed on nightlife.
