We expected to be stung here. Such a chocolate box location in a largely mock-fishing village on a tiny island off the chic resort of Stresa. However, we were surprised. The fairly simple Italian food was not cheap but it was cheaper than expected. Only a little more expensive than in the main town ashore. The food was also really quite good. My pasta con funghi was delicious. The panacota was also delightful. Wine was available by the carafe and was not too bad. The main attraction, however, was the location in the tiny church square. Beautiful and we found a little shade in a corner behind a palm. There was even a fountain with good drinkable water to fill up our bottles as we left.
