If there is a paradise on earth, it might well be the Italian lakes. And this apartment, on a small island in Lago Maggiore might be the perfect place to enjoy it. Quiet, clean, spacious and very close to the ferry docks. Stefano, our host, met us at the boat, showed us the apartment features and explained how everything worked. He was always available by phone or texting to answer questions. The island is small and basically a day-tripper destination. So that means almost no place to get breakfast, a lot of choices for lunch, and dinner is more limited. There are 2 very small food shops, but they are extremely limited. Stopping at food stores in Stresa or Baveno before taking the boat out to the island is very important. The apartment does not have wi-fi, but the island restaurants do and once you know the password you can use it. Some might find it a bit boring with not much to do; we found it wonderfully restful, beautiful, and fascinating. I would gladly return!
