Been mostly for meals. Food good if basic. Male waiter very helpful and pleasant. Same cant be said of lady who seems to be on charge. Fireplace in bar never seen it lit. Would make it more welcoming. Prices reasonable.
Would go back but would like to see a bit of comfortable surroundings

Staying at nearby cottage for weekend- family get together. We phoned on arrival asking if we could have a table for six. No problem. Warm welcome from staff, waitress from our need of woods couldn't be more helpful. Better not forget the lad behind the bar- top notch.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Valentine meal.
Would recommend.

Had another lovely meal at the Belmont Arms last night. The food and service was first class. Everyone cleared their plate. Couldn't understand why the restaurant wasn't busier on a Saturday night, maybe the cold weather keeping everyone home! It is our third visit in about 4 months and we will definitely go back.

I stayed here for three nights while working in the area. From the word go I was made to feel welcome and I very much enjoyed the cosiness of the bar/restaurant and the old fashioned (this is a compliment) comfort of the room which was pleasantly spacious with a properly sized bathroom, unlike so many places. I also ate here in the evenings and tried three different dishes (ie one each night!) and found them all to be delicious. I appreciated the tasty local ales at the bar too. Altough in a quiet location, Perth, Dundee, Blairgowrie and Glamis are all within easy driving distance. Did not have time on this occasion to explore the locality, but if you're looking for a comfortable base for a quiet break in this area, the Belmont Arms would be hard to beat.

I booked this hotel at 9am and it was easy to book a family room. On arrival, we were made welcome and shown to our room by the owner / landlord. A reasonable size with a double bed, single bed and another single bed which looked like part of a set of bunk beds.

The room was clean with adequate storage facilities. Tea and coffee available but this would have been better with milk and not powdered whitener. Bathroom rather dated with the green bath and wc with white toilet seat. It was clean and shower over bath was ok. Noisy but essential extractor fan for ventilation.

Bulky portable tv set which did not appear to work was a bit disappointing and with no Internet, mobile phone service or tv, an early night was had.

Fabulous food served in the lounge and a great menu offered. The salmon and prawns starter was delicious and a lamb burger was very tasty.

We had an early check out planned and the staff took our order the night before and had it ready for us in the morning. Great service on that account.

Overall, if we had the use of the tv / Internet, I would have been more satisfied but this maturing hotel ticked most of our boxes. Luckily, we had stuff to entertain the kids at night and the early night was unexpected but necessary due to limited facilities available. Best suited for couples looking for good food, quiet location and no disturbances from mobile phones.

Room Tip: Room 4 is a family room and can get hot from sunshine through windows. Windows open but just be care...

Very quiet when we visited so not much atmosphere, but really enjoyed the fantastic food. Reasonable value for money and a decent selection on the menu. As well as the resturant they have started serving Tapas in the Bar Lounge I'm looking forward to going back to try this :)

I take my mother here when I am home from working abroad. Every time we visit, it is quiet but every time we go, the food is fantastic - without exception. The service is good, the people are friendly but professional and while I agree that it is slightly dated, cleanliness and overall condition is excellent. I just wish more people would visit here. For what you get, the price is competitive. i really don't understand why it isn't packed out all the time.
