Booked in for a wedding in tunbridge wells. Had to wait 20 minutes to be seen to in reception. Attitude of the manager was terse and rude. Food was expensive and bland. food served on a wooden block does not mean you can charge an extra 5 to 10 pounds. Their other pub is called the spread eagle and is even worse than this one. Rooms are dated, and the premier inn offers better value. Avoid at all costs. If you need a nice place to stay in the area, there is a nice purpose built next to Pembury Hospital. What they need to do is sack their manager and get some new ideas in the kitchen.

We have stayed in many bigger establishments, but this is a 17 roomed professionally run hotel with friendly and caring owners. We were able to reserve the disabled access room, which has a very decent wet room, with shower seat, raised toilet, and many rails placed strategically. I would have preferred a shower chair to the small fold up seat - but, then, you can't have everything! Furniture was in good quality dark wood, and beds were comfortable. Good tea and coffee facilities, and there were two chairs in the room. A highlight of our stay was the excellent breakfast menu, which should meet the most demanding client. We had the almost undivided attention of our hosts, James and Carol, who served us as though we were family guests!
We look forward to future visits.

We have a son with Learning Disabilities who with some 3 'house mates' had to stay for 3 weeks whilst their local home was being refurbished. This would have generally been a difficult time for them all to 'live' in a place away from 'home', but they were looked after and made so very welcome that it made their stay happy and secure.
The staff were kind and great, and as parents we are very grateful to this hotel which welcomes all people of the local community.
The accommodation, food and drink is all of a high standard.

Can't fault the staff, rooms, food, service, atmosphere of this hotel. The hotel rooms are in an adjoining annexe to the main building. My room was to the back on the ground floor, and very quiet. The shower is large and the water pressure etc actually work. There is a small restaurant area next to the bar but the same menu can be served in the bar area and that's where I dined. A real find and I'll be staying again next month.

Nice rooms attached to very decent pub serving good reasonably priced food. The cleanliness was lacking with little attention to detail which makes all the difference. Excellent breakfast and welcoming hosts. Cannot help but think £98 for a mid week October room is extremely punchy and probably £15 too much unless there is better quality of cleaning.

Carol and John put us up after being let down by so many hotels, I am paraplegic and permanent wheelchair user, who needs a wheel in shower, They took us in even though the room was booked , they went out of their way to help us, will be staying there in the very near future, first class and the only totally wheelchair accessible hotel in all of Tunbridge wells. 5 *
