I stayed here for one night for a wedding reception.we found the hotel room very comfortable, quite spacious, very clean and the breakfast was buffet style, lovely food. The only reason I gave a four and not a five was the price which I thought a little overpriced but then I do come from the midlands where the same standard of room would be considerably cheaper. The hotel staff were also very helpful and pleasant.I would recommend this hotel if you can afford it!

We stayed here on a family visit.
My parents had a disabled facilities twin room at the start f the corridor and were very impressed with the wet room facilities.
I found the rooms quite dark including the furniture and the heavy doors ... However everything was provided and very comfortable.
Breakfast was adequate ... I had the porridge and my parents had a very small cooked breakfast. I would have liked a poached egg ...but it was not offered only fried or boiled!
Staff were all very friendly.
We had a family lunch and the service was exemplary.

We stayed at the Camden Arms for 1 night and found it just what we wanted for a short stay. The room had everything we needed and we have no complaints. Perhaps a little pricey but this might have been due to it being August Bank Holiday. The bar food was good and the staff polite and friendly. We found the dark furnishings, mentioned in other reviews, certainly didn't detract from the overall attractiveness and comfort of the rooms.
A very pleasant stay.

Our one night stay was pleasant, staff were friendly and helpful, our room was a very quiet one as requested, if rather gloomy due to a small window and heavy dark wood furniture. A fan was provided, necessary on a very hot night. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The shower room was spotless. Breakfast was good with a varied range of hot and cold foods (a request: please provide some fresh fruit rather than tinned) and is a self service buffet in the bar area. The atmosphere overall was relaxed and welcoming.

One minor gripe, if offering a lunch dish of smoked salmon with 'farmhouse bread' please DO NOT serve up spongy pale beige pre-sliced packet bread. Please use proper bread cut from a real baked loaf. The salmon was nice though.

We travelled a fair distance to attend the wedding of friends and were concerned we wouldn't have time to change and leave our luggage safely and still get to the venue on time. On explaining this to the hotel staff they could not have been nicer or more helpful. They organised early check in for us, quickly showed us to our room and even called a taxi to take us to the wedding. The room was lovely, decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. All the little touches of luxury had been thought of and executed with the thought of the customer at every turn. Breakfast was lovely and again the service was exemplary. Personal and welcoming without being intrusive. This morning even the youngest members of the family who own the hotel have helped make our stay even better, being polite and helpful and giving a warm vibe to the place. All in all we couldn't speak more highly of the hotel and look forward to another visit.

The descriptioon of the rooms as "luxury" might be a bit tongue-in-cheek, but a lot of thought has gone into this family-run hotel which has been well equipped with some interesting ideas. The rooms are quite adequate and clean. Ours, at the back was quiet and a fan had been provided as the weather was hot. The modern bathroom included a splendid shower and soft towels.

Food was excellent. Eight of us were delighted with our individual choices from an extensive menu. Sample: potted shrimps, whitebait, belly pork, moules frites. But beware of over-ordering - the portions are huge!

Breakfast was equally good. Our room rate included a full En glish - a very full English. And if you just fancied a boiled egg,, individual timers had been provided along with a gadget for taking the tops off the eggs. There was even a dispensing machine for the jams and marmalade.

Oh - and the staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful, despite the heat!

The Camden Arms is reasonably priced for the area, is easily accessible on the main road in a small village and has a large car park. The staff are pleasant. However there is room for improvement. Rooms are in a separate but attached building and are reasonably sized but contain some very heavyweight and 'dated- looking' furniture including very odd bedside lamps like pineapples. The bathroom is good and modern however. The view is of a rear lawn but is somewhat spoiled by the sight of the maintenance area and stacked, used paint tins.
Breakfast is taken in the bar but the breakfast buffet service area is far too small. 3 people and its full and needs doubling in size. The breakfast plates are little more than side plates and need to be bigger. Fruit is in very small containers and regularly needs topping up and sadly the bacon was undercooked each day.
The pub, because that is what the Camden Arms is, has a beer garden area which would be better if the furniture was maintained better and a rather large brown dog was not allowed to use it for toilet purposes.
