Was expecting great things after reading review. Landlady i believe was a little abrupt/rude. No children's menu unless under 5. What over 5-10yr old would eat a £16.50 meal with pudding. Not many. Food was ok? Beef very tough couldn't cut it.

We were recommended by a friend who had tried it out and were fortunate enough to get the last table though it was in the pub area and not the restaurant. The food was good with a great choice of meat and vegetables and they were not shy with their portions. The desserts were absolutely brilliant especially the caramel ice cream with Maltesers. Staff were friendly and service was good. Would definitely return.

Visited the Black Horse on a Wednesday lunchtime with my team from work, having heard good reviews from friends.
Our first impressions were the lovely smell of woodsmoke from the log fire and the cosy beamed interior of the pub.
We received a friendly welcome and prompt efficient service throughout.
The menu is great with lots of different choices. We went for the fajitas, lamb, fillet steak, sea bream, lambs liver and Black Horse burger. All excellent with delicious accompaniments. My only minor gripe was that I asked for my steak cooked 'bleu' and it was more medium rare but still, a very good steak. The wine was lovely and very reasonably priced.
All in all, great food, good value and friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Came hear as we heard it had excellent seafood and weren't disappointed! Very friendly staff and nice pub atmosphere, only let down was the spicy chips which just tasted of curry powder to me, otherwise a really lovely meal.

My husband and I try to visit every Sunday as we enjoy the roasts! Having a pub ourselves we enjoy the change of scenery and friendly service!! Our dog Dobby also loves it as he gets lots of attention and there is always a sausage on hand for him :) great pub! Many thanks, Gem
