This place is a must VISIT for adventure lovers. They have quad bikes,Jungle Safari and now they even have zippie by firefox.
May be this place is not worthy of a long trip but an Up-down trip from a nearby is a must.
Rooms are overly priced.
The property being located in a remote village area, therefore the road leading to it is full of twists and turns and be prepared for a bumpy ride.
I would recommend its an Excellent place if you plan an Up-Down trip and not stay as the rooms ARE Expensive.

we booked 14 rooms on 4th feb 2012. no room service. no quilts for the extra beds provided. food is average.they refrain to provide food & beverages on ala carte basis which is really pathetic since they r only going to get extra money. think twice before going.

We booked our New Years clelbrations with 6 rooms ....payed a bomb of Rs 25000 per room for 2 nights (Meals Inclusive)
*No Room Service
*Staff is Extremely Rude
*Rooms are average
*Food is Average
*Only thing we heard from them was a NO(Asked them to join tables..No...Can you get us water..NO...!!)
* I think the staff was taught to say no to everything
*since there is no room service....Its like my school days coming back....8-10 Breakfast, 1-3Pm Lunch Time....Evening Snacks 4-5 PM.... Dinner time 9 to 11PM.
*Since we were a group of 15 people..we decided to get a bonfire in front of our rooms( Which started with a NO but following by lot of noise from our side..was told only after 11 PM since they wanted us to attend the function hosted by the lodge with high music !!
*A bottle of water takes about 30 minutes to arrive.
*Ordered quantity of food is halved by the captian himself..because he thinks we have ordered just too much...!!

High Points
*Paint Balling
*Flying Fox

Room Tip: Pool Side View Rooms only...if you want maybe some service!!

My wife, daughter (7) and son (1) went to this place last week. Reached late because of traffic and accessibility. Spread out over 1800 acres, it does boast of a huge forest. The rooms and suites are close to each other, and though the cottages are of decent size, sleeping 4 on a bed was definitely tight. Not much room for an extra bed. The good part in the freezing cold weather was the complimentary hot water bottle service that they provide. Electricity supply is definitely an issue, but thankfully these guys are equipped with a good power backup. Food can be improved upon, but the staff are extremely courteous and polite. Overall we all had a wonderful time with their activities available there. We would most certainly make another visit again.

Room Tip: The best time of a visit would be october as after that it becomes too cold.

This is a great place to go with family. We (I, my wife and 7-month old daughter) went there is December at the peak of winters but the bright sun was extremely soothing especially enjoyable in the well done surroundings that they have created.

Food was also pretty good

Service was inconsistent ranging from excellent to really bad. Excellent because they did things like sending us hot water bottles without us asking for them and being prompt in room service and really bad because they had staffed the reception with someone who was perhaps doubling up from his core role of a gateman (the same guy lifted our luggage and I saw him guarding the post for some time!). The result was that to get my room telephone repaired, I had to face the phone being banged on me at least 6 times until I walked up to the reception and complained. Given the overall stature (& pricing) of the resort, one expects the reception to be staffed by someone more professional.

I think they can do better by having better heaters in their rooms instead of the weak little thing they have now (and they dont provide additional heaters by the way since, we were told, that can cause a fuse to blow)

Overall a great experience and would come here again. Didnt find much to justify a stay beyond 2 nights though.

Room Tip: The base rooms are also good; cottages must be nicer though the view wont be too different

Kikar Lodge is a beautifully constructed resort in lovely green environs, but a good vacation needs peace and good service too, which isnt there at all. We stayed there for 2 nights in December, and the hotel had accommodated a large group, who were allowed to use DJ till late night spoiling our idea of quiet bonfire and a good night sleep. Also, please be watchful that the breakfast gets over by 10 am, way too early if you are going for vacation. In case you are going there, please check with them if they have a group staying with them.

we went to kikar lodge after diwali in last week of october,2011.

we went along with our family, group of seven adults and one kid. weather was beautiful with just a hint of chill in the evenings.although the water was cold we enjoyed a dip in the pool on both the days of our stay.

the food was awesome.we really liked the variation in the menu .

we were really lucky as the adventure sport cord zipping had just started and we got the chance to try out the new sport and that too free of cost.this was a once in a lifetime experience and we were able to accomplish it thatnks to our really supportive and confident teachers.

the quad biking was not up to the mark. we tried thier spas which was an average experience, the heater and the sauna were not functioning .

overall our stay was quite enjoyble and my little daughter had a memorable time on the night safari when she spotted deer and an owl which she still remembers.

Room Tip: choose the cottages that overlook the swimming pool. do not choose the jungle or lake facing cottage...
