“The Best family & adventure getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2011

Nestled in the jungles away from all the hustle & bustle... This is truly the place to be. My family (wife and 2 boys) visited here last week and my kids were ready to disown our home back in delhi for a permanent residence in the resort. It lives upto its expectations and infact exceeds them on all counts. Extremely courtous and accomodating staff. Fantastic accomodation in the cottages. Great food (Indian and chinese), and the sweetdishes were to die for.
All the adventure sports are amazing. Had a blast on the quad bikes and the flying fox. Have vowed to go back in a couple of months and do all the activities. The place has so much for the kids and adults alike. Nice open lawns.. 3 swimming pools including one for the toddlers. Completely in touch with nature... Would highly recommend this place as a must visit... Good directions and easy to get to... just follow the signs and the instructions on the kikar lodge site

I had a wonderful experience! My wife, my daughter and I went there last week! The place is a joy! The views, being surrounded by forests, going for evening walks...the host was a thorough gentleman. The food was excellent and the banana fritters itself are worth going back for! I highly recommend kikar lodge, go and discover the magic yourselves!

Room Tip: The cottages overlooking the pool

I have gone this "Kikar Lodge" place by the refernce of my friend to book it for the group of around 30 peoples with the families and after seeing their web site its look so prity. but reacheing there is not a easy job. They are having very big property the rooms are good with all facility like 3 star hotel. but what they called it Lakeview rooms are the worst rooms you will find so much of garbagge in the Lake and this is very small lake they have made. I dont think they are maintaing the swimming pools. This is not the place anyone should go with families. but you can go with the friends to enjoy the party late night and four wheelers bike ride whch they have. it is very good. The staff was also good. Becasuse of the summer season also it was very hot. and you can not enjoy in day time. Any how thanks to my comman sense i have not booked it only by reference or seeing the website. The money they were asked was very high for this type of property. so i have not booked.

Room Tip: Not to choose Lake view room else are OK.

The client had booked for three nights on a weekend and on the last minute decided to prepone his booking and shift his booking on a weekday. He was told that on weekdays the hotel is relatively empty so it’s better to come on the weekend when the hotel is full. The client told us that it did not matter if the hotel is empty or not as they were three families.

When the clients arrived the swimming pools were drained as the night before there was a thunderstorm and leaves and mud had blown into the pools. Our staff had cleaned the pools and had started refilling them. The clients were asked to wait till they was sufficient water for them to enter the pool without causing any injury to themselves.

As per the refund policy the client’s cheque was made within a week and on being told to collect the cheque he wanted cash which as a policy we cannot give. He then threatened our staff with physical violence and repeatedly called me in the middle on the night abusing and threatening me.

If there is any fault of the hotel then I would like to apologies on behalf of the hotel.

I went there with a bunch of my colleagues and their families. We were a group of around 30 people. The drive from Chandigarh was fairly decent and took around 2 hrs. We had asked for AC Innovas but got a assorted mixture of vehicles some of which were not comfortable. Me and my wife were put up in a "lake view" cottage. The lake here was a dirty puddle about the size of a swimming pool with some garbage floating in it.
The room however was pretty good with all the modern facilities of a 3/4 star facility and was kept very clean. The service too was good and the people there were happy to arrange bonfires and some outdoor activities etc for us. Quadbiking specially was fun since this was our first time. The big letdown however was the surroundings. It really did not justify the 300 km trip we had made from Delhi to reach this place. We could have all this and more in some resorts in the outskirts of Delhi.
Overall we did manage to have a lot of fun but only because we were a large bunch. The place itself was definitely not worth the trip. If you are in that area and want to spend a couple of nights in relative peace and quiet then this could be a decent place. However if you want some views you would be much better off in a hill station.

We visited Kikar Lodge on the recommendations of friends & reviews on the net. When we reached the lodge there was a group of sales people from Punjab. They wanted to play loud music & create a ruckus. When the management was apprised about this.they were helpless. To compensate for this trouble they gave us an extra day of stay for free,But still it was not worth it.

To reach this place itself is a big challenge, there is no mobile network, the food is just average & the staff has no clue about Hospitality. We could not use the swimming pool as the group from Punjab was using it all the time and creating a big nuisance. On top of it all.there were creepies crawling into our room all the time. The AC in the bar was also not working. The Spa was closed as the staff was on leave due to off season.

It was a HORRIBLE experience which is a simple waste of your time & money. TOTAL Y AVOIDABLE.
