In short: very quite, very peaceful and exceptional service...food needs improvement especially the breakfast. A bit overpriced...
Special mention: Rakesh and Narinder our adventure activities (rock climbing and rappeling) guide...very helpful and professional.
I forgot the name of the masseur (Thang, i guess) but he was exceptional.
Try to get rooms 102 (great view from the cottage) or 107 (is at top, great location but only if you are comfortable treking a bit)...

Was recommended by a friend and am so glad I opted for it. Everything you would want in a short vacation, you get it here. Away from the hustle bustle, complete value for money.
Thumbs Up: Nice ambience; Activity area which is loads of fun for the kids; Good view of the valley; Jacuzzi, over looking the mountains; Great tasting food (Indian is a must try); Long walk routes.
Scope of Improvement: Lighting can be better; though all activities are paid for, packages for the same should be introduced; better (more visible) security, service charge of 20% to rooms is a dampener. Too much furniture in the room, avoidable.
Helps make the experience memorable. Good Show!!!

Room Tip: Was at 101-is good, but the best views are of 102 and 118.

I am SO glad I chose Aamod over all the others - the likes of Combermere/ Willow Banks etc.. The eco-tourist claim is well lived up to.. its a beautifully maintained property.. although the adventure activities are all to be paid for (exclusive of quoted cottage rents).. the valley view cottage (101) has a breathtaking view. The service is good although the food isnt great. You can easily get a bus to Shimla right outside the entrance so you dont have to worry about the 16km dilemma. Its worth staying out of the city for!!

Room Tip: Do ask for a valley view room (the rates are all the same)

1. Its food is stale and horrible. Its not worth to spend a penny on the quality and taste of food they serve. Even fresh fruits are not fresh.
2. The resort is at remote location and there is no market or any other sight seeing location in the proximity of 5 km.
3. The resort organizes parties for the local peoples which in turn disturbs the guest staying in the hotel and looking for the peaceful environment. The staff also ignore the guest when the party is ongoing.
4. There is a recreation room which is just for the name sake. There is actually nothing in the activities also.
5. Room size is small and the bathroom is even smaller.
6. Spa center has steam bath but it doesn't work. The masseurs are not well trained.
7. Overall not worth money.

Situated amidst natural beauty, this place is a vacation destination in itself. It has fresh air, untouched natural beauty, breath taking views. Weather you are looking for adventure, or you just need some relaxation this place has everything to offer. I went there with my husband. Even though all the rooms in the resort were full, there was no disturbance in our privacy. If you want to get away from the hustle bustle of city life, I would highly recommend this place to you. Every one should visit this place at least once. It is a little heavy on the pocket but nevertheless worth the money.

1.Bad location. Far away from Shimla. Nothing to do at the resort.
2.Among the activities claimed by them...mountain cycling was non functional... they have made a small obstacle cource by tying ropes and ladders on trees... but its not appealing enough.
3.Rooms are small.
4. Not worth the money...for a similar rate one can get Cecil in Shimla. Better quality of rooms and service. It gets filled when Shimla hotels are full...or for corporate events.
5. Its a farce of an eco resort. They dont really know what an eco resort is.
6. Only thing good is the food.

This Hindi proverb completely suits Aamod at Shoghi.

The journey to Aamod was a journey to paradise. The beauty started from the initial point itself, i.e. from the place where our cab was parked to the end point of the resort. The way itself was amazing and spell bonded.

The warm and courteous welcome by the staff followed by the delicious lunch was highly appreciable. Although we were late for the lunch but it was served very quick and with great efficiency.

The ambience of the resort was calm and peaceful , the rooms are designed as cottages in remote area without disturbing our environment .It’s an amazing feeling, going to the mountain hill top through pine and oak trees on the way to cottages.

The idea of the adventurous activates initiated by the M.D of the resort Mr. Gaurav and his team is praise worthy.

Idol place for children and youngsters too.

The spa is situated on the top of the hill which is an unforgettable site, the view from the top is eye catching and wonderful. The spa staff have the full knowledge about their work.

The best thing about the resort was its quick service and delicious food, as it becomes difficult for the staff to serve in such a hilly area, but undoubtedly it was marvelous. The breakfast, lunch and dinner all were moth watering.

The most observable thing was that not a single tree has been cut to make such a big property.

My special thanks to them, for organizing a comfortable and perfect sightseeing package to shimla and chile.

Over all a wonderful experience with “AAMOD”. Nature habitat will love the spot.

In short a complete package of comfort with beauty and care.

Will surely want to visit again and highly recommendable.
