We recently visited the resort, a small group of 5 families; 4 families from Bangalore and 1 from Kerala. The ride from Bangalore to Thirunelli was spectacular as we chose the path via Hunsur – Nagarhole – Kuta. The resort is very close to Thirunellu temple – one needs to travel around 1.5KM from the temple. The roads are bad (Kaccha Road), but the SX4 in our group could make it without any scraping of underbody. We reached around 12 in the noon. The vehicles had to be parked on the road and we had to take a short walk to reach the resort. This were we got the first taste of what we were going to experience – the walk was along a pebble filled walkway with stream on one side. The path extended into the thick jungle foliage and suddenly we were in the resort. It has 3 tree houses and one main concrete block where there were rooms. We had blocked the 3 huts and 3 rooms. The staff was extremely courteous and took pains to make us feel at home. The staff had come near our car and helped us in carrying the bags so that we could focus on scenery.
All of us were hungry, the staff promptly served us a sumptuous lunch – a combination of veg and non-veg. The food was prepared in the traditional Kerala style.
The resort had plenty to offer in terms of eco-tourism
- A nice stream – crystal clear, ice cold
- Trek in paddy field
- Jungle Trek – how deep you want to go is based on how brave you are
- Camp fire @ night
- Stay in a tree house
- Traditional Kerala style menu
- Fresh juice after each trek
- Visit to Tirunelli temple
Being an avid traveler myself due to my nature of job, I could really appreciate the courtesies of the staff who were making honest efforts to make our stay more and more comfortable.
