This is the waterfall where the iconic movie Bahubali - The Beginning was shot. Excellent surroundings, best managed and well kept place. Worth revisit.

We visited this water fall during our recent stay in Athirappilly. It is a very impressive fall with water rushing down three main places. You can walk right down to the bottom and soak in the spray from very close to the fall. Dipping your feet in the water can sooth your senses. Even though the climb back up can be a little exhausting for some, the overall experience is very relaxing and calming. The monkeys add that extra element to your adventures

The waterfalls is about 1.5hrs drive from Thrissur. It is absolutely scenic and has a spectacular view - One can view this from the top and bottom. I would suggest everyone should get to the bottom view, though the path to get there is a bit strenuous, so best avoided for anyone with knee issues or elder people.
Suggest to get there either early morning or late evening (before 5pm as the closing time is 5:30) as the sun can be quite harsh at other times. Also you can’t enter the water, so don’t have plans of taking a dip.

We have visited several waterfalls, but have not seen anything like this. This is simply the best waterfall in Kerala.
The waterfall is very close to the parking place, so not much of a trek involved. You can see the waterfall from the top and also after going down. But do not miss viewing the waterfall from down, because view is mesmerizing from down and the feeling of water droplets sprinkling all over is out of this world.
There are some monkeys on the top but if you are not carrying any food items, they wont trouble you.
The trek down is slightly tedious but not very difficult so should not be missed.

falls view is really superb ,the way to reach the bottom of the falls can be maintained better ,also a platform can be made to stand and view the falls ,there are too many stones scattered on the way it can be levelled.the sight of the falls is marvellous ,you should not miss if you are in kerala.some spot can be developed where people can get a dip in the water it can really add to its attraction

Athirappally waterfalls located in chalakkudy, Thrissur district, Kerala. It is a nice place to visit with family. Try to visit during winter or rainy season to enjoy the peak beauty of mother earth. The water fall is very near to the road, but difficult to get parking near the entrance. Try to visit early morning to avoid traffic. Both side of the river covered with thick forest. sometimes, you can see several type of birds and animals on the forest.

We drove just 8 km away from the Banana Leaf Restaurant on 30th October , 2017 to visit the most magnificent waterfalls in Kerala . The waterfalls were made doubly famous by the epic Bahubali movie . After paying the entrance fee of Rs 30 /- each we entered the one and only very well protected forest area in which four endangered Hornbill species : Great Hornbill ( Buceros bicornis ) , Malabar Pied Hornbill ( Anthracoceros coronatus ) , Malabar Grey Hornbill ( Ocyceros griseus ) , and Indian Grey Hornbill ( O. birostris ) could be seen flying .

We followed the roaring sound of the majestic waterfalls falling from 25 m height . The spray of falling water made a haze . We walked down to the bottom of the waterfalls and tried to balance on the slippery rocks . The other misadventurous tourists tried to indulge in suicidal games of taking selfies .

Small restaurants served the local eatables and hot & cold drinks to the tourists .
