When we entered the place, we were greeted by Mr. Jagat (Manager) and his wife, sign of good hospitality. Away from the hustle n bustle of Jaipur city, this is a hidden gem which is about 35 kms from the city. This used to a hunting lodge for the royal family members before it got converted into a hotel. It has a extended view covering the dried lake bed and the hills. Beautiful lawns, pool with a hill view, everything is very charming about this place. The rooms were large and spacious with fine and elegant decor. Our room had a very large balcony with the back view of the hills and the dried lake bed.The staff was friendly and extremely hospitable. They had arranged a private dining experience for us by the poolside, which we quite enjoyed. We had a good and pleasant stay.

We stayed here for three nights as part of the Kuoni Introducing India- Delhi and jaipur tour. We had to insist with Kuoni that this was the place we wanted to stay as advertised and not a replacement hotel and we were sooooo glad we did,. What an amazing place, it was the maharajas hunting lodge and you could really feel the ambience of this. we stayed in the historic suite and it was truly wonderful. There are only 14 rooms all different. The management and staff are helpful discreet and made you very welcome, wanting to share the history and knowledge with you .After Delhi is was the perfect antidote, views around for miles, peace, tranquility..... there is so much history attached and you feel a part of it all. The decor of the whole lodge is magnificent and very fitting. A really worthwhile place to visit. The food is superb though not a vast choice this is understandable for the size and amount of guests but the quality is wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble a real gem hidden away.I wish we could have stayed longer!!

We came to Ramgarh from the hustle, bustle and squalor of Agra. When we arrived I texted home with the comment "If paradise exists on earth, I have just checked in" Nothing has changed my opinion.
Don't be put off when you turn off the back road over the dam, and see the deserted buildings. The gateway is just passed here, and once you enter you are in a different world.
Reception - or better described as the welcoming committee make you very welcome. As soon as you are ready give you a personal guided tour of the grounds. Fantastic views across the valley where the reservoir once was. Pool in the garden - water was a bit 'bracing' when we were there, but it was November. Pleasant to laze by it while the sun is out. There is also table tennis, and a full size snooker table for guest use.

The room we had (I was with my daughter so needed a twin), was awesome. Must have been at least 15mts x 10mts not counting the amazing bathroom. Shower, separate bath. Bedroom had 2 large beds, settee. coffee table, Satellite TV. The only thing the place lacked was wireless internet, but, but for a few days in heaven I could live without that.
We had a balcony almost the same size as the room. Fantastic views of the valley and the garden.

There is not really a formal bar. If you want a drink, someone will fetch you one. They set up a makeshift cocktail bar outside about half an hour before dinner.
Dinner is a self service buffet, nothing incredible, but quite nice. When it's fine, breakfast is set out on the lawn. The dining room is fairly small, but the hotel does not have many rooms anyway. We were on a private tour with Cox and King. Most of the rest of the guests seemed to have been booked in as part of a package as well.

The hotel is about 30km from Jaipur, so you will need to arrange transport to go into the city. Jaipur is wonderful after Agra.

You can walk around the area the hotel is in. There are a few villages around, and the people are very friendly. If you do, take a handful of sweets for the local children. Everyone is very friendly. You will see loads of monkeys - take a stick in case they get too interested, and lots of different types of birds.

Had a massage at the spa. Very relaxing.

The Amber fort in Jaipur is is excellent. Particularly impressed with the mirrored palace.

Just one more note on the hotel. There is no facility to change money there, so either do this before you arrive, or while you are visiting Jaipur.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the valley.

Originally a hunting lodge in the middle of jungle, it is a real treat for people looking for an escape to the peace and luxury that Jaipur has to offer. It once had a lake, which is no more but this does not matter so much when you are there.

The drive is along dirt roads and it does take 4 time to get there but the place is worth it. There were no other guests when we stayed and we had a beautiful suite with a balcony. Food cooked when required and the staff was friendly. In the evening great place to see the sun go down and amazing views around.

Still owned by the Jaipur Maharaja but run by Tata. We had a great experience and definitely would visit again

Room Tip: Hotel has 2 floors, definatly a good idea to a room on the 1st floor, you can appreciate the view m...

We had visited as family during the month of August. I was very happy to see the reviews, before i booked the place. The property is located in serene surroundings, the place is good for family get away. Rooms are huge & they have lawns where kids can run around & play. The Option for food is extremely poor. The buffet break fast do not have any choices. Not even close for a 4 star property. The food is very very expensive & no choices. The service is ok, nothing great. The hotel is focussed more on making money rather than anything else. The Property manager is good at talking, did not see the same in action. I was dissapponted at my stay here with my family which was for 3 nights. The property is definitely over prized for the services & options they provide. Not value for money.

Room Tip: Choose room no 103 (deluxe Suite). Big & facing the lawns. You can sit in the lawns for a coffee...

The hunting manor has been converted into a very nice property with large comfortable bedrooms. The open areas are ideal for kids and for lounging around. The pool was clean but we could not use the tennis court due to the incessant rains. The table tennis table could be better located and the billiards table was excellent. Jagat and his team really make you feel at home. The only disappointments was the distance from Jaipur, which lead to some very expensive taxi bills and the limited choice in the buffet. No complaints on the taste of the food though. A morning hike for the young at mind is definitely suggested as the view is phenomenal.
If you are the shopping and sightseeing type, this place is not for you.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor as there is no view.
