“Rezzo in the autumn - lovely place to be”
Reviewed January 20, 2017 for a stay in October 2016

My 80 year old mother, my sister and my brother and I were very enthusiastic about the great location with the beautiful view of the Ligurian mountains and woods. The structure of the "Rustico" is a beautiful mixture of very modern in combination with the old architecture of the region. Rezzo is a lovely place to be and a very good place to discover the ligurian region - mountains and coast. Great Holidays :-)

“4 First timers in the hills of Liguria.”
Reviewed January 1, 2017 for a stay in September 2016

We spent two weeks, two couples in our 60s,exploring Liguria for the first time. Liz the owner was very helpful in the booking process, as we where driving down and
our friends flying into Nice. The accomodation is beautifully situated, very well presented, comfortable and very well equiped, especially as we love to explore markets and cook. The village is friendly, picturesque but steep, although even my dodgy knees managed the walk down to the river and the old Napolionic bridge. Lots of places to explore, but car needed, plus nerves of steel to do some of the mountiain roads.About 45 mins max to the coast, and some very lovely coastal spots.Good resturant in village , plus absolute blow out meal at the little resturant by the Sanctuary chapel up above the village, which opens at weekends.Good walking, especially higher up. Wish we had made the effort to do a trip to Genoa, but busy locally, so we will have to go back.

“Stunning villa, in an idyllic village”
Reviewed July 13, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband and I stayed here for under a week, for our honeymoon. This is the ideal location for rest and relaxation; with breath-taking views everywhere you turn!
The villa is immaculate and we were greeted with a hamper filled with goodies, including local pasta, homemade preserves and the best coffee you've ever tasted! The villa is truly a home away from home and Liz and Shane are absolutely wonderful hosts.
We had such a lovely stay at the villa in Rezzo, it is now a place that my husband and I hold so dear to our hearts. It goes without saying, we will certainly be back!

“Great house in a beautiful location”
Reviewed November 8, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed in this house for a week in September. It's well appointed and is very clean and comfortable. The house is at the top of the village so you'll get plenty of exercise to burn off all the wonderful food and wine! The views from the spacious terrace are to die for and you can sunbathe in relative privacy as you only get the odd car or apie passing on the road below.
the rooms are well appointed with comfy beds, nice bed linen and plenty of space for all your bits and bobs. The bathrooms are lovely and powerful shower and decent towels. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to self cater. Liz and Shane are great hosts and live just down the road. They have lots of local knowledge and rezzo is a fab location to base yourself to visit the beautiful Ligurian coast. A hire car is a must when staying here. We will definately return!

“Beautiful”
Reviewed November 2, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This house is beautiful. Very comfortable, functional and a home from home. I stayed here with a friend and we had plenty of space and a bathroom each! The terrace gets the sun for most of the day and the views down the valley are spectacular! This house is really only suitable for people who do not have mobility issues. It's near the top of the village and there are several steps and slopes to get down to the shops and restaurant. it has a couple of cafes and shops for essentials and a restaurant. With a car, you can easily access some beautiful places on the coast. This is a beautiful area of Italy and directly between Genoa and Nice so easily accessible from airports. Fab holiday and Liz and Shane have lots of local information to help you make the most of your stay.

“Modern accommodation wrapped in old world charm”
Reviewed August 24, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

From the moment I got the first response from LIz regarding my enquiry about booking this accommodation, I had a good feeling about this place and we were not disappointed.
We drove down from the South of England over two days, stopping off in Dijon on the way, and this was probably not enough time allowed for the journey. However, with Liz's directions coupled with the in-car satnav we arrived late afternoon on our second day of travelling, without missing a turning. We called Liz about an hour before arrival and met at the easily found meeting point in the main street of Rezzo. Good job, because we would never have found the place otherwise. Rezzo is a warren of pathways which is quite easy to find your way around once you have your bearings but until then you certainly need a guide. They had arranged a private parking space for us fairly close to the house but it was still a bit of an uphill walk to do with lots of bags, etc, so just as well that Shane was on hand with his tuctuc to transfer all our luggage right to the front door.
Once inside, we were given a plenty of information about where to go and what to do in the local area, and there is plenty, even though it is a remote village in the mountains.
The house itself is well equipped and spacious enough for the 5 of us, but had signs that perhaps Liz and Shane have only recently started renting it out.
I was in the first bedroom as you enter the house, and I felt it really needed some additional furniture such as bedside tables.
There are pipes poking out of the walls where it looks like they are preparing to install a heating system, although that certainly wasnt required during our stay.
The bath had presumably never been used as as a bath as the plug didn't stop water from exiting.

In addition to all the information provided on arrival and the welcome hamper of local produce, there was an abundance of maps and booklets on the local area. One thing that I felt was missing from this was where the local facilities mentioned were exactly. Some of them were easy to find but others seemed almost impossible to locate. It would be nice to have a detailed local map, highlighting the local facilities for reference.

Having said all the above, I hope perhaps Liz and Shane might well take some of the cxomments on board and improve things, but these are all nitpicks, none of which spoiled our holiday at all.
On the positive side as well, I should mention the lovely towels, plus additional beach/sunbathing towels, all of which were supplied at no additional charge, in marked contrast to another property we booked which asked for 10 Euros each for bedding and didn't include any towels at all.

Overall we had an excellent time here and I would certainly stay here again if coming back to this area, although next time I would probably fly to Nice or Turin and hire a car from there. Rezzo is a beautiful village with plenty to offer and this modernly equipped accommodation was the perfect compliment.
