Lovely walks up and down to the river for a swim, gorgeous towns and villages to visit. Great hills to see and explore. Best pizza ever ( made by Emma ) ! David, Emma & Tilly have been amazing and generous hosts - we've had a fab time. Moose xxx

The house has been beautifully restored with no expense spared and has wonderful far reaching views down the valley. Car is essential along with a good pair of walking boots, and a few trips to the gym to spruce up your leg muscles in advance would be recommended. There is no flat ground, so expect to get really fit! Local shops and restaurants are pretty basic, but adequate, but a trip to the coast down the mountain (40 mins by car, or 30 if you close your eyes) offers all you need with a large variety of good shops and eating places. Local nightlife tends to be "local", so if you are that way inclined it's back to the coast again. Lots to do and see, but you will need the car to get there - and don't forget those boots.

“Wonderful property in a beautiful location”

Thoughtfully restored and furnished, well appointed house. It sits at the top of a beautiful, Italian village with great views down the valley. It's an easy walk to the local restuarants and shops and we found it a very convenient base to explore the surrounding areas. A lovely place to stay which we'll visit again.

“A beautifully decorated house in a peaceful & picturesque mountainside location”

Rezzo is a peaceful and picturesque mountainside village within easy reach of Nice or Genoa. The traditional architecture is unspoilt and interweaved with beautiful car-free streets winding their way up the hillside.

Casa Soprana is a recently renovated property just a few hundred yards from the centre of Rezzo with fantastic views over the village and down the valley beyond. The traditional stone exterior is combined with a beautifully decorated and fun interior with all possible mod cons. For all you eco-warriors out there, heating and hot-water is supplied by a combination of solar panels and biomass boiler - it was certainly toasty-warm in January anyway!

We were met at our hire car by the charming owners, Dave, Emma & young Tilly. All our luggage was whisked away in a cool three-wheeled motorbike/pick-up vehicle that I think they called an "Appie" - don't rely on my spelling though! Remember, most of the traditional hillside streets are (thankfully) not wide enough for cars. Dave & Emma were very helpful in recommending things to do; and if you ask Tilly very nicely, she might even show you her pet chickens!

I would recommend Casa Soprana & Rezzo to families, groups and individuals looking for a picturesque and peaceful location "to get away from it all". Whilst lovely & quiet when we visited in January, I am told that there are various fetes and street parties in the summer months so time your visit according to what you're after. The locals were certainly very friendly and I can't imagine this village being anything other than relaxing at any time of year. Given its mountainside location and mostly car-free streets, it is obviously best suited to those who aren't afraid of a bit of walking; there again, being a village, you can pretty much walk anywhere within 10 minutes anyway.
