located within a stone throw distance from the rasmancha this place has nice big rooms with attached balconies on two sides, ante rooms for storing and dressing and large toilets. there is a huge well maintained garden behind the rooms. the food is simple yet tasty and the service is quite prompt. they treat the guests with respect and the rates are reasonable.

All together it was a nice stay...please opt for Ac rooms...as they are well decorated and clean than the non Ac ones.

Room Tip: plz opt for AC rooms even if u visit in winter

Big Sized Rooms, Overall Cleanliness From Lobby To Washrooms Noticed. The Service Regarding Reception To Dining Is Good But Not Excellent. Guide Services Can Be Arranged For Exploring The Ancient Terracotta Temples & Textile Manufacturing Units (Mainly For Baluchoree & Swarnachoree Sarees). Behavior of the staffs - better than before. (My Bishnupur Visit :: at least 10 times).

I Have Purchased A Set Of Glass Lantern, A Pair Of Typical Styled Bankura Horse, Locally Handwoven Towels (Gamchaa) From Local Market During My Previous Visit.

Must Try Excursion :: Panchmura Village For Pottery Workshops Where You Can Purchase Different Types Of Designed Pottery Works. Mukutmonipur Dam etc.

My Recommendation: Use Local Rickshaw Vans For The Explore Part. Search For “Dasabatar Taas” – An Ancient Game Used To Play By The Royal Family. Each Card Is Hand Painted With Much Care. The game is not so tuff but you have to learn it properly. Very less amount of enthusiasts know this skill. If you have interest on something new, try to know the ancient water harvesting system of the historical town from elderly persons.

Great location, spacious and very well priced. This place offered a wonderful stay in a bohemian ambiance with a dash of the local earthen craft work used to beautify the hotel. It has a good garden and near the Rasmancha, Jorebangla Temple of Keshto Rai, Pancha Ratna Temple of Shyam Rai and Madanmohan Temple. It’s a soothing place for a tired travel who has driven far to get away from the Kolkata hustle and bustle

Booked a Dbl A/C room through the WBTDC office at BBD Bagh (as the web booking service was malfunctioning at that time).
Turned up at the tourist lodge at 11 am. The room was not ready. Left the luggage and went out for a walk. Came back at 12.30. Were showed to the room which had windows facing the back of the kitchen and the open air garbage dump of the hotel. Asked the reception to show us another room. Were told, there is none left!
But that was just not true! Our friends booked another A/C Dbl but couldn't come. Technically there room was available as they did not have the time to inform the Tourist Lodge that they were not coming. However, decided not to argue!
We paid Rs.1400 + Taxes for the room. Here in TripAdvisor, fellow member PDUTT is saying that he enjoyed complimentary breakfast. We were not offered any! The service in the Dining room was also very erratic! There was some sort of training going on where (probably) hotel management students from some local institute were learning to serve food to each other!! Had to wait till the mess was cleared!
The plumbing in the bathroom of our room (particularly the shower) was pathetic. The plumber came all right but was not of much help.
The hotel staff tried to appear helpful, sans the Manager, who always adorned the reception desk and did nothing. But courteous staff hardly makes up for mismanagement and below average service.
Considering the rich heritage of Bishnupur, it has the potential of becoming a major tourist attraction of Bengal, provided the tourism department can manage their show well.
