“A landmark of Berhampore”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

A major landmark in Berhampore and the only certified four star hotel in Murshidabad. The food in the Flavors restaurant is certainly the best, thanks to the expertise of the chef Mr. Anup and his team. The sea food festival held in this hotel last year was a major hit.
And definitely the place to stay if you are visiting Murshidabad with the added convenience of free pick up and drop from the railway station or bus stand. In short, you will love it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing towards the railway station have a better view.

I stayed at this hotel in Berhampore for a night in January, 2014. The previous night was spent at Hotel Manjusha in Murshidabad, purely for it's amazing location & convenience. Hence, considering Hotel Manjusha is just a basic lodge, coming to this hotel straight from there was a shock to the senses. This hotel is sheer luxury! Don't know what this kind of a property is doing in Berhampore. It's too good for a place like this. It's huge, clean & ultra modern. Moreover, it's just an year old so no signs of age on it's exteriors or interiors. Had booked a Grand Presidential Suite for my wife, daughter and me. Upon our arrival at the reception, we were welcomed with Nimbu Paani and a big smile. Quite a relief after a long & tiring day with all the sightseeing in Murshidabad. The hotel had a huge parking area for our car. We were promptly taken to our Grand Presidential Suite which was exceptionally nice, as was expected from a hotel of this standard. The bathroom being even better. About the room, I don't need to say much because the pics I clicked would be worth a thousand words, as they say. Didn't visit the restaurant on the ground floor since we had all our meals in the room itself. The food was good but could have been better. As per the hotel's room service, though the restaurant stays open 24 hours, they cannot serve Tandoori & Oriental at odd hours, which is fair. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to Murshidabad & Berhampore, which will be quite soon. My only suggestion to the hotel management is to get some better lighting done in the Grand Presidential Suite. The bedroom seemed not lit well enough, especially around the sit out, next to the bed. Rest, keep up the good work and it's no surprise that this hotel has, in no time, become the No. 1 hotel in Berhampore & Murshidabad on Tripadvisor. Bravo!

Room Tip: Choose the Grand Presidential Suite, if you want to live like the 'Nawab' of Murshidabad!

The hotel is located in a convenient place with clean surroundings and the interiors are really good. The room (we took the Super Deluxe Room) was very spacious with a spotlessly clean and modern bathroom, nice view of the canal in front of the hotel, but the staff seemed to be totally untrained. They were polite but totally clueless about what they were supposed to do, that included everybody, right from the front desk personnel to housekeeping to the waiters. Food is good at the restaurant. The restaurant seemed to be popular with local families.

The places of interest are not too far from the hotel and Murshidabad is probably one of the cleaner towns in Bengal. I would recommend this hotel to visitors but would certainly expect the management to select staff with greater care and train existing ones.

Room Tip: Opt for canal facing rooms

Great food. Great people. Keep it up. The food was excellent. We need more hotels of this kind in the district. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who are planning to visit the district. Will visit again.

Stayed a night in Hotel The Fame for a day on 13th Oct, 2013. Grand ambiance, Clean toilet with modern facility, room service ok, spacious room. The water quality of the shower is poor. It is not refreshing. May the river water is of that quality. Needs improvement. The front office staff was efficient for arranging a car for my two day trip to Murshidabad and Qassimbazar. One point I like to mention, during cheeck-out the attitude of the Reception staffs should be more courteous rather than mechanical.

It's a new hotel, overlooking a small lake, funded by local bank BGVB. Rooms are very spacious, bathrooms are clean, food is nice and service very courteous. Having said this the hotel seems to be built by those who seem little new to this industry else they would not put the housekeeping area in a very prominent place so that every guest gets to see it AND there are several such things. I hope that the management does a good job of maintaining the place as the real test would be how it holds up after an year. For Rs. 2000-2500 a night, you can't ask for better !

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the front or lake side

I stayed at this hotel with my family for 3 days. We were not only greeted with impeccable hospitality (especially the lady at the reception, too bad I do not know her name). I was really amazed with the quality of food they serve. Ordering food from this hotel is a bit pricey but the quality and quantity is excellent.
