Good Friday gave an opportunity to get away from the daily routine set in for the last few months. After a lot of searches for weekend getaways, we zeroed in on Diveagar...
After reading few reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to stay at Rainbow Cottages as it seemed well priced. The hotel is actually a wadi filled with coconut, jackfruit and arecanut trees....

It is located at 10 mins walk from the beach. The wadi consists of 6 cottages....with a sitout and a steady cool breeze to accompany.... The cottages are clean with generator backup. It also has a small sitting area with a gaming console and book shelf (could not check the books though).... They also have some nice music running in the background throughout the day....

The only thing that needs improvement are mattresses and beds as they are very thin and the beds squeak quite a lot.

A single person seems to run around taking care of all your requests. It doesn't have a restaurant but serves food from an adjacent hotel (managed by same owners). What you get is well priced lipsmacking home styled maharashtrian food for lunch and dinner.

I would surely recommend this place for a weekend stay....

Things to do:-
1. Enjoy the views and relax on the beach...
2. Some activities at the beach include ( Banana ride, camel ride, ATV ride,....)
3. Fresh coconut water and jackfruit....
4. Drive down the scenic road from Diveagar to Harihareshwar.....
5. Harihareshwar temple and the walk up the mountain to enjoy the views at the stepped canyon...

Room Tip: I would recommend cottages 5 or 6 as they are set little inside the wadi area away from the generator...

I was here with my wife at this place last month. We had not done any booking since this was our last minute planned tour.
This was a referred cottage resort by one of our friend. We were Luckey to get vecancy as one cottage was canceled by some person. This place has got a different value which you could not imagine. Total area is full of wadi area full of coconut and beetlenut trees. All are cottages and they are comfortable with all of the necessary aminities. They got a mini library too. Food they served was homely cooked and was authentic. Staff is dedicated and helpful that made our stay more beautiful. Big Sitouts with the lounge music makes it more special. It was sunny period but at this place we found cool as total area is covered by greenary and special roof they have.
The only thing suggstable for the owner is provide some bell at the reception specialy for the last Purple cottage.

My wife and I went to Dive Agar to celebrate our first wedding-anniversary. We checked-in at Rainbow Cottages (Cottage number 6) on 09th Feb 2013, and checked out on 11th Feb 2013. As it is a non-peak season, the charge was 1500 per night, which was really worth for staying at this place. The ambience was really good. The "wadi" was fantastic. One gets the needed privacy also. I would definitely recommend this place. If I go to Dive Agar next time, I'll prefer to stay at the same place.

What I liked the most:
- The entire place (Rainbow cottages)!
- The tea!
- Pricing of the food was also adequate. Lesser and better than some other places.
-Their behavior and service.

What could be improved:
- The beds make a lot of noise. The mattresses are too hard.
- It'd have been great if there was a button in the cottage, by pressing which I could call the room service boy. Helpful for the lazy people like me!
- If they could provide some other food too. I am not very fond of the Konkani taste. So is my wife. But this is true for whole Dive Agar.
- Facilitating bill-payment by Credit Card.

Suggestion for guests:
Though the cottage was clean and really well maintained, we found two spiders there. Arachnophobic people (like my wife) should check the cottages carefully and ask for insecticide, if needed.

Away from the city yet not too far “diveagar” is a must visit location for puneites as well as mumbaikars. Staying at “Rainbow cottages” is definitely fitting for a relaxing and peaceful stay at diveagar. The cottages are located in the wadi amidst the supari trees, and are well separated from each other. Each cottage has a sit-out where you can relax. The rooms are clean , comfortable and well kept. The hotel has a true “village” feel. The staff is extremely helpful and makes you feel special. We tried many eating places at diveagar but I would recommend asking the manager at the hotel to provide “home made” meals, they are very tasty and are served with love (inform him atleast a few hours in advance). We had booked a cottage for 1 day’s stay. We checked out on the following day only to return back after travelling couple of kms on are way back home for 1 more day’s stay at Rainbow cottages. Definitely would recommend Rainbow cottages for people who are not too fussy, who do not have unrealistic expectations and want to have a nice peaceful stay in diveagar.

I was at this amazing place with my family including kids this x-mas holidays for 4 nights and 5 days with an advance booking from their Pune office by bank transfer. At first we were not sure worthiness of staying 5 days at a same place but took a risk as we were desperately in need of relaxation and not to west of energy in traveling to the other places. But coming to this place we felt proud on our decision because of the location of the cottages.
The cottages are located in the dense plantation of coconut and beetlnut trees. Consisting each necessary amenity in it including led tv sets, cozy and clean bed s towels specially, clean and big toilets with hot water. More what I like is the huge and special Varndhas they have, where you can just relax day long with reading or just can hang out. At Diveagar you can find several times power shut downs but they have generator back up too. There is beautiful pathway spread all over area to access each cottage. There are TV games, carams and sea shells spread in certain areas which tooks care of children.
Beach is on walking distance while going you can enjoy the typical konkani village environment. They serve homely cooked food but remember this is only on PRE-ORDER basis as most of the Diveagar hotels run on this system except 1/2 restaurants.
I would like to come last but not least about the staff and the owner. All are so attentive and helpful that makes your stay more comfortable and easy.
