Day Trek to Keraao Pachhaad (a.k.a. Tiger Falls) is a must do while in Chakrata. Trekking Route Length is approx 05 km from Himalayan Paradise Hotel. The difficulty level is moderate and overall time required is approx 6 hours.
You can start the trek around 1000 hrs after breakfast at the resort. You walk down to the gorge carved by the Gwasa Gaad stream and follow its winding channel till it meets the waters of the Keraao Pachhaad.
Its a beautiful route and yo have to be careful during monsoons or post rainy days. We spent about a couple of hours exploring around the magnificent waterfall, taking a dip in the cold water. It is real fun to go right under the falls and feel the might of the water.
There is a small shop which sells amazing vegetable maggi, hot tea, cold drinks etc. And there is a makeshift arrangement for changing clothes which is probably the best possible at such a place. Even Ladies and Kids can change here and not miss on the fun. However, no provision for toilets... Do it in the open!!!
You must carry Hat/Cap, Water bottle, sun-protection, Camera.
Binoculars can be optional but great for bird spotting.

The location of falls is A W E S O M E, it was very difficult to get there. I would dare everybody to go inside the tigerfalls. I was the only one to get inside the falls and that was heavenly experience.

Tiger fall is approximately 18 Km from Chakrata. There is a small gate mentioning the name of the place so you need to be watchful for the landmark.

There were many enthusiastic kids from nearby village wanting to be our guide. we went with bunchful of them.
After approx 1 Km of gruelsome treak downhill we came to the falls where we were awestruck.
The place is small but untouched by the modern construction as well as manmade trash.
We went to the small pool at the bottom of the falls. The water was chill and our feet got numb. after a while the entire family was in water and were having a good time.

It is unimaginable to us who come from the city where the temperatures are more than 42 deg to get into chilly waters this time of the year.
Needless to say the journey back to the main road needed effort and will.

The hike till the waterfall was steep and difficult. Had a tough time reaching the place. No signboards given closer to the waterfall so its quite difficult to know when you are close to it.
