“Morganseye - "Mother Nature's Embrace!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

From the moment of arrival the Forsyth arms will embrace you. The warmth and enthusiasm from every member of the team is infectious. You will want for nothing! A highly professional team, led by Rishi with the boundless energy of David and the wonderful calm of Varun will stay with me for years to come. Smiling is part of the service and you will be!

The game drives, boat trips and elephant ride (if you take one) are wonderful. Immersed and surrounded by extraordinary wildlife that will lift your spirit and touch your heart till it is fit to burst. My trip in the canoe with Varun and my elephant ride with Ganu and Priya were two highlights. I absolutely adore elephants, so it did not fit well at all seeing the chains on their legs. However, clearly they are well looked after and get to walk freely around the park. Bath time was marvellous to see. Nearly lost my camera in the trunk of Lakshmi!

The hospitality at Forsyth Lodge is first class, the food and room service 5 star. We must not forget the staff that are not front line, the hard working team behind the scenes. Their contribution is enormous. Thank you every single one of you for giving me a wonderful experience.....you have created a haven from the madness of the modern world and more importantly a haven and safe place for mother nature's gifts. Four nights.....I could quite happily have stayed four months!

Rishi, I look forward to seeing my images on your walls!

Happy New Year to all of you.

Once at Forsyth you will be transported to another world in itself…away in the wilderness.

It was a perfect holiday for us to wind up the year.
Everything about this lodge is special - accommodation, food, people and the wildlife experience.

We were at Forsyth's for 3 nights and 4 days.

Every bit of the stay has been memorable- safaris at the park, the magical morning in the river on a canoe, evenings at the bar, conversations over meals, lazy afternoons in the sit outs, the bush dinner…and the unforgettable Leopard sighting!

David, Surya,Varun and Rishi are extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic naturalists.
Interesting to listen to their accounts of Forsyth and the park.
Appreciate the fact that everything done here is environment conscious and socially responsible.

We travelled with our old parents and young kids and couldn't have asked for our needs to be accommodated any better. Just perfect.

I have no negatives on my list!

Not to miss- the canoe, the walk and the banana cake :)

Thank you, Rishi and team for a wonderful time.
Miss you all and Jingles!

We had a superb family holiday ( a short break actually ! ) this December. Getting greeted after a 8 hour ride with hot towels and refreshing honey-ginger based drink made sure that our holiday started on a comfortable note. Rishi and his team were always around to make sure that we were taken well care of . Be it the sumptuous sit -down lunches or the barbecue dinners under the moonlit skies and lantern -lit tree tops ,every meal experience was well crafted .The conversations with our team of naturalists led by Varun were stimulating and Star- gazing with David truly magical. The service levels were top class despite the rustic surroundings.
The safaris and treks were well organised and though we missed sighting the leopards, the bears made up for it ! The team at Forsyth had thoughtfully packed a healthy breakfast for us on the morning safari and arranged the perfect spot to enjoy it. All in all ,a wonderful little break that our extended family of eleven enjoyed thoroughly. Looking forward to a longer holiday at Forsyth's soon. Thank you Rishi for going out of the way and making our holiday special !!

We stayed at Forsyth's for 3 nights, 4 ½ days, in October. We had a wonderful stay. It was a part of our holiday of a lifetime silver wedding anniversary trip. Rishi, David and Surya made us very welcome and the locally trained staff looked after us very well. We were welcomed as house guests and enjoyed the fact that Rishi and David ate with us and shared the experiences of each day's Safaris.

The Eco friendly lodge is committed to the local area and the Satpura Wildlife Park. Everyone did their best to make our stay memorable, including an unforgettable candle lit dinner by the pool to help us celebrate our anniversary.

The Cottage was simple but clean and the bathroom was excellent. All of the food was excellent.

David was our principal naturalist and his enthusiasm and knowledge meant that we had great views of the wildlife and the park. We experienced Jeep Safari, canoe safari, elephant, night and walking safari. Each experience was different and provide different insights into the park and local wildlife. Our visit was at the beginning of the season, the park had just opened after the late monsoon, this meant that not all the routes in the park were open despite this we still had great views of a leopard and a bear not to mention the many species of bird that David helped us to find. The photos on the Lodge's Facebook page (Forsyth Lodge Satpura) give a great impression of the wildlife that can be seen. If we ever manage to visit India again Forsyth Lodge will definitely be on the agenda.

We stayed at Forsyth's for 3 nights & 4 days, and the experience was unlike anything we've had before, and exceeded our expectations on every count. The naturalists who accompanied us to the Tiger Reserve are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and have a great rapport with forest officials and village folk alike. Which in turn stems from all that people at Forsyth's do for the community around them as well as the jungle and its ecosystem. The hospitality, accommodation and food are top-notch, and are topped off by David's star-gazing sessions, nocturnal bonfires with drinks and a beautiful outdoor sit-down dinner. As regards the reserve itself, we had a spine-chilling experience exploring it on foot with Varun - one of the excellent in-house naturalists - when we came ever-so-close to seeing a leopard kill a cheetal. On a jeep trip, we sighted 6 bears in a 2-hour ride, in addition to / crocodiles and several lovely birds on a canoe ride into the narrow channels in the forest. For our next trip - which will absolutely certainly happen, and soon - the elephant safari and night jeep drive will surely be on the itinerary. This was a unique forest experience, and not least for being hosted by people who know and care deeply about the forest. Not to be missed!

We just came back after a wonderful three nights at Forsyth. It is a very eco friendly lodge with really a great team. Rishi, Surya, David and Varun are great - they are friendly, enthusiastic and really keen to show us the park and nature that they are very passionate about. Infact their energy is infectious. It is a great park - yet undiscovered and allows for walks in the jungle and by canoes. Very nice that they are reducing the dependence on jeep safaris. Though New Years may not be the time to go as the area gets infested with tourists who have no interest in nature and maybe want a tiger to appear just because they have paid Park fees !!!
We had an awesome time - no cellphones and engulfed with nature. The staff is very friendly and ever ready to help. They felt like a large family. Awesome experience and we will repeat it for sure. Thanks guys and see you soon.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

Stay at Forsyth was amazing. The personal touch of Rishi, the Incharge of the Unit and David, Surya & Varun, the naturalists over there is unforgettable. Amazing people, good food and excellent property... you will enjoy the forest much more. The cottages are built by local material in an eco friendly manner. They have employed local people but provide unmatched services.
