It's out of touristy circuit but definitely worth visit if you have time. It's about 63 kms from shillong. As soon as you enter garo hills , landscapes changes. There is not much too see enroute from shillong to this place. Lot of monoliths are erected at one place. One can just walk in and spend some time there. No fees for the monument and couldn't even locate any guard.

Tip: you wont find good resturants or food joints. Ensure proper rationing, if kids are travelling with you.

The Monolith Garden at Nartiang is the largest cluster of monoliths at a single place in the state of Meghalaya. Monoliths are memorials for people or events. The Nartiang monoliths have been erected to mark the reigns of the erstwhile Jaintia Kings, holding a significant event in the history of Meghalaya.

We could not find the place easily. would be good if it is marked properly with a sign board. Beautiful roads and scenery. had difficulty in communication as people don't know the language.

You can go from Jowai or from Shillong, road is very good between Shillong and Jowai. This Nartiang Monoliths or Stone Garden is a historical place, you can spend some quite time with friend or family surrounding by various monoliths. Moreover, It would be an ideal place for photo shoot.

This could be a huge attraction, if only there were some properly trained guides to explain he history and mythology behind these monoliths. A decent place to eat nearby wouldn't hurt either. Otherwise, its a good place to stop and see whilst on your way elsewhere.
