Owner description: Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali. The temple is located on a rock just offshore. It is said to be the work of revered 15th century Hindu priest Nirartha and forms an important element of Balinese spirtualism and mythology.

Very cool place to watch the sunset, although at times there's a bit of a mist so you might not be able to to see the very end when the sun is actually disappearing below the horizon. It also gets very crowded. There are a lot of people jockeying for position to take photos both of the sunset and also in front of the temple. Still, the view is very much worth it.

It took our breath away. The magnificient view of this temple and the waves crashing on it is just a marvel to behold.

So the pictures are true.. It is really THAT beautiful. It is a must see when you come to Bali no matter what others say. It does tend to get crowded with lots of locals trying to sell you things but It's worth it!

departed from kuta on bike, arrived after an hour. The parking fee for motorcycle was RP2,000 and the entrance fee was RP30,000. magnificent sunset view and tidal waves. you will have to secure a good spot as there will many tourists as well.

departed at 7pm, be careful and make sure you wear your glasses as there will be hordes of insect flying around.

I stayed at the nearby resort and have visited the Temple many times.
Make sure you go at low tide and experience the monk blessing as well.
Some of the rocks can be a little slippery so be careful
