This was our second visit to Echo Valley and it was just as amazing as the first time. It was definitely worth the drive to get there, although we did have the option to fly to Kamloops and be driven to the ranch.

Seeing Norm and Nan (the owners) and their staff again was like meeting up with old friends and we soon settled into our room at the Dove Lodge. As we did on our last trip, we took advantage of many of the activities offered. We enjoyed trail rides, the morning stretching exercise class, a magnificent flight-seeing tour in Norm's Cessna, walking in the woods with the resident border collies, and mingling with the horses, donkey, chickens, turkeys, cattle. We also enjoyed watching the training of the falcons. We topped it all off with the most sublime Thai massages.

We certainly enjoyed the magnificent dishes prepared by Chef Kim. The food was all top notch and included many local, organically grown ingredients. There were many meal choices available, all of them delicious. We joined many of the guests in an after dinner walk down the length of the ranch's private airstrip (remember, it doesn't count unless you touch the fence at the end of the runway)!

Everything about the ranch and spa made us feel relaxed and comfortable while still enjoying the luxury of a five-star resort. We met many interesting guests during our stay and really appreciated that we could enjoy activities on our own or with our fellow guests.

The amenities of the ranch are all first class but it is the warm hospitality of the owners and their amazing staff that will keep us coming back.

It may require a few extra hours to get to Echo Valley, but that's the point! When you are there you feel like you are truly away from it all. Our trip was a wonderful break from busy city life. If you would like to see wildlife, including black bear (at a nice safe distance across the valley) while eating 5-star meals, this is the place for you! The best part was the staff, who were truly welcoming and made you feel like part of the family. I would definitely go back and would consider getting a private cabin, although our room in the lodge was very comfortable.

We enjoyed the quiet nights, the great chef prepared meals and the fantastic Thai massages which we had to keep going back for more. Our 7 year old son rode his first horse during a riding lesson and was fascinated when we saw bears, moose, turkeys, chickens and pigs. He also fell in love with the dogs. We were very happy with the first class service we received right from checking in until leaving.

We had a wonderful time. The services offered by the spa were amazing. I have never had a massage so great in my life. The food was amazing. The staff, Nan and Norm were truly great. They made us feel at home and treated us like Queens. The scenery was beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. I can't wait to come back. I will be counting down the days. I slept so well for being away from home and I normally don't sleep well away from home. Trully EXCELLENT!

Our Hosts, Norm and Nan, and the GM, Flint, treat everyone like family. That includes their own staff, all of whom were so friendly, efficient, and happy in their work.
The spa treatments are to die for, and the other ranch activities should not be missed: horseback riding, falconing, workout centre, walking/hiking trails.
The food is exceptional, and presented beautifully by Chef Kim, so make sure you work out so you can take full advantage of his offerings!
Also, take binoculars to observe the wildlife coming out to the meadows in the early morning and at twilight.

Echo Valley, as it name suggests is a ranch and a spa. Having just recently visited a second time I can say that it felt like going to see old friends. The owners have managed to create a perfect combination of a professionally run resort with the comfort of visiting people you know and like. The spa experience is balanced perfectly with the ranch experience and guests can pick the activities that they enjoy in either. I had a facial, a massage and spent two days grooming horses. Just what I needed! I look forward to my next visit.
